It was comparison in the extreme for sure. Seeking parallels that any person with a brain could sort through. ICE-KKK Come on. Prosecutors pitch! When Trump ran and he compared many people and groups in the same fashion. This is just a byproduct of today’s hostile political theater. That Clinton and Trump set forth.

But she did make the comparison and that is going to resonate with some and cost her votes ultimately. More knowledge for me is still to be gained. I like to hear everyone’s message. But Trump will NOT get my vote ever. I have always felt and still feel the same I did the day he announced his Presidential bid. UNQUALIFIED and LACKING in MORALS.

Ha!

I knew I would get -'s right away for trying to be honest about my fellings on a Democratic candidate I know nothing about. I am actually wondering how many -'s I will get before comments are turned off.

God forbid. A Republican or a Democrat wanting to work together or hear each other’s message and try to be open minded.

In the last two photos. Seems like allot of people attended. Look closer. Mostly kids in that one photo. Last time I checked. Children cannot vote. Just an observation. I do not know enough about this Democratic candidate to form an opinion yet. But I despise California politics. To wrapped up in Hollywood and getting that celebrity base and money going. Maybe she is different? I do not mind she has a mixed ethnicity either. Nothing wrong with it at all. Never was on that Obama rubbish either that he was not a naturalized citizen.

I will say this. I like the sound of this.

"We are here because the American Dream and our American democracy are under attack and on the line like never before. Okay. Interested. Would like to hear more.

We are better than this. Yes, we are.

I am Republican for the record.

She deserves to be champion. She put the work in and the better player one. That’s it. As far the American crowds sneering and unhappy. Well get over it. And I am an American. I agree with JJ Jetplane and zones2surf. The Williams sisters Federer, Nadal, have had their day. I have enjoyed watching Rodger be so dominate in the sport. He is the GOAT in men's Tennis in my opinion. Both Williams sisters over came so much as well coming up in the sport. Due to their ethnicity. I must agree. Osaka is so exciting to watch and if she stays healthy and driven for Tennis. She is going to win her fair share of titles.

@Laguna,

Oh, that's rich.

Nacy Pelosi is extremely evil, she comes from the Baltimore Democratic corruption machine the D'Alesendaro family both her Father Tom D'Alesendaro and her brother Tommy D'Alesendaro were mayors of Baltimore a well-oiled corrupt Democratic family.

Ronald Regan 40th President of United States.

Rep. Nancy Pelosi speaking about the DREAMers after being elected Speaker of the House and quoted former President Ronald Reagan. She then called out GOP lawmakers for not applauding the sentiment.

Pathetic. Nancy Pelosi is a disrupter to progress.

Regan is turning in his grave!

@Strangerland.

But it's drafted already according to some sources. I think Trump does not take loss well. I think he is unqualified and always have been. Because he governs from the cuff. He is too emotional and cannot handle loss. When Chuck makes statements like. I hope the President learned his lesson. Which he said. He is basically pouring gas on the fire.

No Strangerland. I have seen to much of Trump making impulsive decisions. He will use this power. Because in his mind. He believes the wall is the only solution. Why? Because that is how a builder and real-estate tycoon thinks. In structures. It’s not complicated to see Trumps next move. All you have to do is go back and see his decision-making patterns from the past. Trump is President not for the good of the people. Trump is president because he listened to Manaforts, The Gates, and the GOP motivated him. Then he commited in Trump fashion.

Trumps Ego cannot handle loss. And the GOP is banking on this. He will shut it down again. And even longer this time allowing Democrats to think they have gained some leverage, or he will use the powers of the Oval office to declare the Southern border a National emergency. People say Trump is dumb. He is not. He is emotionally charged. Making him smart and dangerous.

Trump should have never run. He should have wielded his checkbook backing candidates he liked.

However. I will say this. Trump loves America. I do not doubt that. He is not as sinister and stupid as people make him out to be. He maybe too trusting as well.

Well will see when February 15th rolls around won't we.

Yahoo.

Ford O'Connell, a Republican strategist who is in regular contact with the White House, said Trump will be able to push for wall funding over the next three weeks without the distraction of a shutdown and that his supporters should wait to judge his efforts.

Trump also signaled on Friday that if he doesn't get the result he wants, he may yet declare a national emergency and re-route federal monies to build the wall on his own.

"He might take a short-term hit but overall in the grand scheme of things, it's not a big deal as long as he is ultimately seen as committed to border security,"

Mark my words. it may not be right. Trump will have his wall in the end. It can not be stopped.

Dems said open the government so they can negotiate. Are they lying to the American people and won’t negotiate?

This is great question.

Are they lying? Of course, they are. Are they telling the truth? Of course, they are to an extent. I wish the current political agenda for the Democrats was this simple. There is no black and white in today’s political environment. There is allot of truth in the above comment by Blacklable. However, I would think that there are Democrats that are some true Patriots with the best of intentions for the America people and not interested in undermining Trumps Presidency on daily basis. But take to the thought Trump re-opened the government could be a gesture of good faith. That Dems should take the position of. Well he was elected. It is what is. So, we might as a party try to get some good things done with this President. I know what some of you are thinking. No way. No wat can we work with the orange man. I am too much of an optimist, I guess. But Trump had to reopen government. Plain and simple. There really was no other choice. It was becoming dangerous. We should all be thankful Trump caved if you want to call it that. The real winner here is that for the moment the powers at be are back to work with sword and shield keeping the American people safe. We should all be thankful nothing serious happened like a major terrorist attack.

Overall, only 4 in 10 registered voters want a wall. I only worried what type of message a wall would send to Mexico our ally and friends. Democrats and Republicans and Independents. All in government agree on many immigration reforms that amount to an alternative strategy. Bipartisan majorities favor current proposals in Congress that aim to prevent the hiring of undocumented workers. Trump will declare National emergency powers up. You'll see. It's coming. Many are talking about a hole Trump dug himself in. But history will not favor Pelosi. She dug herself a nice little hole too. I wonder if the Dems have thought about the long game here at play? I do not think they have. Yes, a victory for the Dems no doubt. But at what cost?  Pelosi’s plan was to win over more Republicans in the House and raise pressure in the Senate. It seems to have worked. When the Presidential election comes around again. I think this shutdown will be a meaningful topic that will stumped upon. The longest shut down in history. I think the Democrats and the President both came off so petty. A low we have not seen in a longtime or if ever. If there was ever a time for a fresh new Presidential candidate to step up and start hammering away on this negativity of this shutdown. Chuck, Nancy, Trump. All of it.The whole shabang. The time is now. This is what I mean if Dems have given though about the long game here. Dems had a chance to really stick it to Trump and come out looking clean. But they didn’t. It reminds me of that video of Eric Holder. When Holder said. “When they go low, we kick 'em. That’s what this new Democratic Party is about." It seems so. The level of dysfunction in my government is at an all-time high. This would have never happened if Cruz had been elected. I often speak with my Republican friends. I try to explain that electing a Non-professional politician like Trump was a huge mistake. I firmly believe that this President continues to show me how unqualified he is in politics and making sound decisions that are for the good of the American people. I really hope POTUS Trump does not use that emergency option pull card. Yes, he can do it. But if he does. The blow back will be huge. Let's get back to making some reforms that are going to work. Let's try to get Mexico in the conversation. This issue and problem starts in Mexico. What can our good friends across border offer up? We need good common sense and effective ideas. Not a dysfunctional government wanting to place blame here and there. The finger pointing, the bickering. All of it needs to stop.

Let all those know living in Japan of all Nationalities that if you commit murder. Japan will deliver swift and full justice. That the penalty for murder will be administered to the fullest under the Japanese justice system. That murdering anyone residing in Japan will never be tolerated.

As far as the Philippine National turning himself in. He may have had a conscience that was eating at him and wanted to atone for his crime.

Yes, does not sit well with me this statement.

Let those foreigners know for certain that any harm to our citizens will warrant the fullest punishment to the law.

On the topic of illegals being receiving a better level of treatment than the homeless. It would really depend on the state the homeless are homeless.

Some states have some great homeless programs and assistance and aid, private sector and state funded.

Also, illegals caught and sent back in cases like Latinos. I would say their treatment would vary on what state they were caught coming in illegally.

If a Brit or an Australian was caught coming into the United States illegally would their treatment be any different than Latinos as well South Americans in general?  I would say yes. I would say there is a great deal of prejudices being put on Latinos and South Americans right now. And especially in today’s hostile political environment.

Could we all agree on this?

America needs to modernize and secure its borders on all fronts somehow some way.

America needs to overhaul the very outdated immigration system.

Non-biasedly. Walls seem to work to an extent in other countries. However, the United States is so vast. So big.  A wall can be compromised with a tall enough ladder. The wall update is just one piece of this soution possibly. I am not 100% sold on the idea. I also do not like the message it sends to Mexico.

It is enraging to no end to hear that police officer's life was taken by an illegal alien. Or a rape. Or a murder.

Those familes affected have a right to be unsettled and angry.

I could even say that illegals get better treatment than our veterans. Another system failing maybe to talk about on another day.

One thing is certain. The back and forth between Pelosi and Trump better stop. Nothing productive is getting done to further solutions on immigration and coming up with a viable soution. Stalemate. I casted a vote cause I wanted change and action. Not this. Not this shutdown.

Got to get something going. This shutdown is not helping.

@Strangerland.

This attitude is so... immoral. These people know no other country, no other life.

Though you may feel my outlook is immoral. If I am in this person’s shoes. I would have got my paper work and documents and application done when I became aware, I was not legal. I would have taken steps to correct my parent’s decision to enter another country illegally. I would have done everything the law allowed me to do to protect my ability to keep my life going in the only country I knew. Now if I was uneducated then I have a different opinion or disabled.  Staying in a country illegally is far more immoral. Let me ask you. How would you feel if you were in the same situation in Japan? You became aware you’re not legal. But you had an opportunity to get legal. But you choose to go on taking no action. Please I do not need lecturing me in morals. My moral compass is just fine. And pointing North. I was once married to a Japanese dragon lady at a very young age here in Japan. I subsequently and unfortunately fell into divorce. I went to the Japanese immigration to inform them I had been divorced. I will never for get it. I went to Kokura immigration and was told I have 90 days to leave Japan. I asked what my options were. I could apply for this Visa or that Visa. I had no children with my X making the issue even harder. Luckily, I found a job teaching English where the employer sponsored my visa on the 85th day. Where there is a will there is a way to stay legally if you want it bad enough.

Now, I am usually with you on allot of your insights and comments and enjoy your perspectives and will continue to do so.

But on this. We can agree that we disagree.

Have a great day ahead sir.

You were brought to the US as a child and know no other country. Now you're in your early 20s. When applying for a job or a mortgage, under Trump's proposal, you'd have to say, "Well, I may be deported in three years."

Rightly so.

Do you have a social security number? Do you have a passport? No? You are an illegal at this point.

Three years for deportation?

No, much sooner. Law is law. If you cannot follow the laws of the land. You need to go. We do not need any more illegal voters for the Democrat base. (proven by the way) Thank you very much.

Meanwhile in Japan Kim, Lee, Park Choi, enter Japan waters and under the cover of darkness. They enter Japan in some wooden bedraggled boat. Find work in some road construction crew for some quick cash.

Park tries to apply for a JCB card. Get's asked for his alien card. Does not have one. Get's flagged by Japanese immigration. They raid taking Park and his friends into custody from the share house they all live in. He and his fellow North Korean's get sent home (deported) with a hot meal!

The rule of law requires not just obedience, but also fairness. Do the paper work, apply and follow the law.

We normally think that people should respect and obey the law in democracies, even when we don’t like what it says. That’s because the law provides each of us with a framework in which to live our lives.

However, just as it would be tyrannical for one citizen to decide on the law and impose it on everyone else, there is a moral problem with countries just deciding for themselves on immigration and imposing their rules on people who have no say in making them. A fairer system would be made up of international rules for migration and take account of the interests of both citizens and immigrants, insiders and outsiders, combined with a way a resolving disagreements. In a perfect world ne.

Our Renault dealership does pretty well in Kitakyushu. The Renault client is very brand loyal. I think Lada brand would do very well in Japan. The Bronto 4X4 is an intresting vehicle. A bit bigger than the Suzuki Jimny and more powerful than a Jimny. And cost, a bit less. If the Lada Bronto was here in Japan and I was thinking of that class vehicle. I may have to take a hard look at both vehicles.
