from a humanitarian standpoint they should have smiled graciously and accepted it with thanks. Switch the actual pieces for the bonfire if necessary to allay health concerns, but an outright rejection is unimaginably rude under these circumstances. .

typical response from someone in Japan. We understand that honesty is not a Japanese value, but just think about all of the labor involved in transferring the wood and covering up the wood, and then what do you do with radiated wood, and so on.

Santorum, in a press interview on a local Des Moines news station said he found great offense at Savage's often used phrase

Spreading Santorum

I had to google the phrase and then poke around in a few web sites before I could finally come to an understanding of Bachman:

Can you taste what I’m saying? It is onions or potatoes, a pinch of simple salt, the wealth of melting butter, it is obvious, it stays in the back of your throat like a truth you never uttered because the time was always wrong ... -Levine

Breitbart,

As always I enjoy reading your comments. Your perspective is reflective of an ongoing dialogue in the country of expanding waistlines, and it is fair to point out that Savage, and left-leaning pundits fuel the right-wing's furnace. Bachman and Perry are both very savvy politicians and capitalize on the kind of sentiments that you express.

At the same time, right-wing pundits -- and there representatives -- could easily win the next election by taking a page out of Clinton's black book and embrace the middle. Maybe not completely, but can't you think of a more clever way to galvanize the right than dehumanizing people on the left?

Try and go beyond "that lovely ass hanging out" or "those firm melons" "those pipe-fitters's lips", and see the woman as a whole being, a person, and individual, a sister.

Guys, I think the point of the action is a calling for men to evolve past their impulses to attack women just because they feel provoked.

prestigious places like Tokyo University, Todai University, Kyoto University, Waseda University, Keio University

Yea, I don't know how many times I have had to bite my tongue when someone tells me -- and usually with great pride -- that they went to one of these places. "Todai is like Harvard, Keio is Ivy League", No, they are mid-ranking schools by international standards.

cesium samples as well, so I can add a new flavor to my children's meals.

I commend you for speaking up as a concerned mother. I hope that more mothers stand up and demand honesty.

Sorry, meant to say that Bachman has not -- or it hasn't been reported yet -- spoken out against shellfish consumption.

Bachmann has not expressed any view on either smiting or pillars of salt, as far as I know.

She also has spoken out against Red Lobster, or other places that serve shellfish (shellfish being condemned as a vile food in the Old Testament by literal readings)

@BlueWitch

who are we to cast doubt about them? I guess as we can do is to keep quite and bow to them~

Yea, that is the attitude, or it certainly was after 3/11 on Japanese networks when Todai (nuclear apologists) and Kyoto University professors made sure that we understood that it was not a meltdown. Everyone just sat there and took it. And I have been in the situation before, and have been chastised for trying to use reason as a mode of conversational discourse against a fallacy (though a fallacy from a Todai man).

Savage, like all too many on the Left, is consumed with hate and projects it wantonly.

Not accurate, in fact on Maher that night Savage claimed that: "I want to make some Santorum in Santorum" Now, for Savage that would be an act of love. Is that really so barbarian? Savage is a comedian amongst other things, and if you read his columns on a regular basis and have seen him in the past then you would know that he really has a love of people, and yes, he sometimes shoots out a sort of burning discharge at the right.

the biggest Monsters in Japan graduated from Tokyo University

Yea, having to work with Todai people is nauseating. I understand that Todai ranks high in Japan, but globally it is not a university of particular distinction. Todai research is referenced with a rather low frequency -- and it isn't just a language problem.

Santorum, a rod of liberty

In a segment of an April 2003 interview with the Associated Press, Santorum asserted that consenting adults do not have a constitutional right to privacy, and that polygamy, adultery, and sodomy undermine society and the family. Savage subsequently asked his readers to coin a definition for "santorum" which would offend the Senator, announcing the winner as "the frothy mixture of lube and fecal matter that is sometimes the byproduct of anal sex". He created a website called "Spreading Santorum" to promote this definition, which became a prominent search result for Santorum's name on several search engines. He offered in 2010 to take the website down if Santorum donated US$5 million to Freedom to Marry, a group advocating legal recognition of same-sex marriages.

Breitbart,

Nation of Islam is virulently anti-gay and is openly supremacist.

Yes, and I hope to not see them in a position of power. Many of the republican candidates are trying to drag religion into politics, and there is a principle at stake:

"...I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should 'make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,' thus building a wall of separation between Church & State." - Jefferson

Living your life by a fictional book is not a way for an adult to behave.

Again with the directions on living. And calling it a fictional book is not accurate. Many people believe that it reveals a greater truth through parables and metaphors. In fact, many people in the world take great comfort from the Bible, while others use it as a justification to colonize other countries. Of course there are many ways to understand the Bible.

Steve might have a point though.

Steve has a number of points, and who is going to disagree that having a stable family unit produces better results. But Steve likes to go a step further and seems to maintain that women should stay at home and the man should work. I don't care about the PC debate about this, but there is a practical point and that is to say that women often make better workers than men, and men can be great care givers. So it is arbitrary as to who does what. In fact, two married men could provide the same stable family unit that makes for happy children.

Children from traditional families who are brought up by a stay at home mother on average perform better at school, have less emotional problmes and are in better health.

Could have been brought up by a man with the same results.

Since Women where pressured to work by society about 40 years ago in first world countries te following have risen; Violent crimes, divorces, gap between rich and poor, childhood mental illness, elderly in care homes and many other things.

The link is not necessarily between women working and social ills.

these trends forced onto society as norms are breaking up our society.

What is more likely breaking up your society is your decreasing role as colonialists; not having the income from sucking on other countries in the world in the same way you did before is depleting your economic resources.

Breitbart,

You judged Romney without examining his position on the matters you mentioned.

No, just simply pointed out that the Mormon organization is officially bigoted (or has been historically) and they continue to persecute gay people through legislation in recent years. As a fiscal leader, Romney is probably the best choice, and he has nice physical features (wouldn't kick him out of bed if you know what I mean--guessing you do)

Breitbart

You don't seem particularly interested in his replies, or his position

Well, what are his positions that I am missing (and throw in Harry Reid): they (Mormons) actively fund and support anti-gay legislation, their religion has a history of bigotry, and they are in office. I don't know how they defend their position, please let us know.

This decision is an absolute disgrace and based on nothing scientific.

The context is a ritual to welcome home spirits of the dead. Choosing pure materials is necessary to honor these spirits. Do you really want to pass on radioactive elements to dead spirits?

Romney:

Following the death of Joseph Smith, Jr., Mormon leaders beginning with Brigham Young instituted a policy of excluding most people of black African descent (regardless of actual skin color) from Priesthood ordination and from participation in temple ceremonies. These practices continued in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) until September 30, 1978, when the highest bodies of church leadership lifted the ban after stating they had received a revelation.

Has anyone asked Romeny what it feels like to be a part of an officially racist organization?

The Moron church also was instrumental in Prop 8 in California, and continues to donate large amounts of money to deny gay people the right to marry.

Exactly what basic rights and human dignities are we talking about here? Quite a broad statement there....

The right for gay people to marry (opposed by Bachman).

And for dignity: telling a young person that their homosexual feelings makes them a "sinner" is very damaging. Actually, Bachman's husband has a clinic that accepts the money of tax payers and counsels people not to be gay. This practice has been condemned by official American medical practice organizations as it is harmful to the well-being of a person.

Steve

And I am not trying to be impolite, but as you have a lot of advice, or philosophy of sorts about the roles of men and women in the house and in society, then I think practical questions should be raised to test the validity of your wisdom. The first being: have you ever met anyone who values your ideas? That is to say, can your mode of thinking be applied in today's society?

the last time I read the Old Testament I recall God was smiting a lot of people whose sexual behavior displeased Him,

That is subject to debate. But you are right there are people like Perry and the American Family Association and leaders of the Christian Restoration Movement, who interpret old parables very selectively and conclude that their mission is persecute gay people, not feed the hungry or love their neighbor, but torture people, they hate people. And they call themselves christians?

Are these midwesterners not ashamed of attacking gay people and undermining basic human rights and dignities? What god do they serve, certainly not the God of Abraham.

Fine you say compensate them but where does money come from?

Imagine if the nuclear industry stopped raping average people with inflated electricity bills -- I suppose the money could come from there.
