As cool as the V-22 Osprey may be (the Marine Corps. love it), the next generation tilt-rotor successor, the V-280 Valor is even better. I saw a static V-280 on display at Heli-Expo -- very impressive.

No. 5 is quite pretty. So is No. 8 and the girl on the far left.

They are all winners to me...bravo to them and bravo to JT for posting uplifting content!

Outside of No. 5 and 14, the remainder in aggregate seem appealing enough for me, including The Carpenters.

So, we are supposed to believe that thousands of foreign women "volunteered" to service the Japanese military personnel. How patriotic of them!

Does she come with the car?

Actually, in all seriousness...does she come with the car?

OK, OK...for real...we own a 2006 TL. An ideal blend of luxury, practicality, and performance plagued with poor reliability. the 2006 model is distinctively good-looking too. I have 69,000 miles (110,000km) on the vehicle and have already spent more than $5,000 on repairs. I need a transmission reboot too, which will cost up to $1,500. I am a believer in superior reliability of Honda cars and suppose that our car's poor reliability is a bit of an outlier.

I view Acura as a budget luxury brand -- an upgraded Honda. And that's fine with me for I am happy to have the substance and not pay up for pretense.

I would purchase another Acura.

My heart breaks for the victims.

So, this pervert starts out as an underwear thief and is now assaulting his victims. I recall an episode of Dateline a few years ago that chronicled a Canadian underwear thief who morphed into a serial killer to fuel his desires.

I'm glad this weirdo is caught and hope that he is locked up for his crimes.

Posted in: IS claims Paris attacks; says France at top of list See in context

This is the second time this year that Paris has been under siege, following the January attacks on the editorial offices of Charlie Hebdo and a Jewish supermarket. I believe that President Hollande has been a vigorous and courageous European leader in battling Islamic terror, sending French troops to the African country of Mali in 2013 to stop an al Qaeda offensive and French jets to hit ISIS targets in the Middle East.

That may be one reason France is now a target, but there can be no backing down from this fight. What’s ultimately at stake isn’t French policy. It’s France’s freedom—and ours. I believe that the USA and Europe need a resurgence of the will to fight an Islamist enemy that knows no restraint. All the more reason to accelerate the destruction of the IS caliphate before its murderers kill more innocents around the world.

Connery and Craig have the ruthlessness which is appealing and more true to the original character. However, Craig broods too much and doesn't have enough fun and that is why I couldn't vote him number one. If I were bedding hot chicks all day long, cruising in a souped up Aston Martin, gambling with other peoples money, and quaffing a martini....that would more than offset the daily whacking of some low-level thug in a staircase, hotel room, or winding road near the French Riviera.

Dalton, Brosnan, and Moore were too gentile, in my opinion, especially the latter two.

Connery gets my vote.

Posted in: Subaru plans $140 mil expansion of Indiana factory See in context

Subaru has strong momentum in the USA. Customers appreciate the AWD and reliability of the vehicles. Subaru is also the most profitable of global automakers. In the USA, Subaru highlights that its brand garners the highest resale value compared to every other brand. Subarus are not inexpensive, but you get what you pay for and customer demand for their vehicles keep rising.

I own a 2009 Outback XT. I love not only that it has AWD but also 8.5" of ground clearance. Above average mechanical build quality is a hallmark of Subaru, in my opinion. It may not have a lot of fancy electronics, but that's fine with me.

I remember when I was considering purchasing a car, I considered the Audi A6 Avant and the Subaru Outback XT. I worried about the long term reliability of the Audi, and so opted for the Subaru. When the Subaru salesperson asked me if I wanted to buy an extended warranty I replied, "I'm in a Subaru dealership partly because I won't need to buy an extended warranty!"

A historic rematch and a historic blowout by the USA. I believe that it was Carli Lloyd who missed the PK in the 2011 finals and she scored a hat trick in the first half alone.

Both teams should be proud of their accomplishments this World Cup and an extra congratulations to Team USA for a well-earned World Cup.

Posted in: It's a Honda See in context

I've been inside the HondaJet. I would characterize it as a very good first try at developing a business jet. The $4.5MM price tag is similar to its chief competitor, the Cessna M2 at $4.7MM. The overall design is distinctive, with the engines mounted atop the wings (the angle of the photo does not highlight this unique design feature). It also has a softball-sized diameter skylight in the lavatory, which is a nice touch for an entry level light business jet, for it creates an illusion of space. Unfortunately, the range is only 1,180nm, which (according to the prospective customers that I have spoken with) is not appealing. As the development of the jet progressed, the range kept getting shorter and shorter.

Inferior competitive position to the M2 notwithstanding, the success of HondaJet will be more subtle. Since the 1980s, Honda has been trying to develop a business jet in-house. In a world where many companies would acquire a competitor to get into a business, Honda utilized its existing engineering talent to develop a clean-sheet design, which I think speaks highly of employee engagement. General Electric engines power the HondaJet.

I look forward to a variant that has longer range.

Kudos to Honda!
