Because the way it is these days is if I do not "support you" then I am homo-phobic. GLTB or whatever you are - get over it

!No one is forcing you to support gay rights or marriage. It's that now , it's more out in the open. No one has to be ''in the closet'' anymore, unless they choose to.

I CHOOSE to support gay rights. Me: a straight and married female. It's people like you that now gays are louder and prouder! I've witnessed first hand what denying your sexuality can do to a person. My sister didn't come out for years ,in fear of being ostracized by family and friends. She lived in a miserable existence and almost killed herself over it. When she finally came out, it was so liberating for her. I am so proud of her! She's now happy and healthy, being who she truly is.

Yesterday, I marched at that parade, for my sister and my friends who deserve to be free to love , be married, have a family and happy, like heterosexuals can be.

You're right Lowly. Maybe ''outlandish'' was the wrong choice of words. Maybe ''campy''. I took photos with them yesterday. Nicest guys and really cool.

Again, my point was that the press chose the most outlandish pic they could find instead of maybe the ones of people with ''normal'' clothes on. Makes for a better debate doesn't it.

I attended this event yesterday and was in the parade. Not everyone was dressed like this! It was only a few and some staff. I was there to show my support to my friends and a family member who are in the LGBT community. All I saw there was love, unity and sparkle.

So people who talk about the costumes because of one photo, really should stand back. If you weren't there, you have no room to talk and judge the whole event by one photo. And this was mild compared to the pride parades like in San Francisco and New York.

Maybe some folks should actually GO to the event before making comments about it.

I'd check out. Hopefully, it's a no smoking bar.

I'm happy and proud to have 3 cultures in my life. I was born in Puerto Rico, raised in NY, and married to a Japanese man. I'm proud that I can share my Puerto Rican and American culture with my Japanese family. However, I do have my ''Puerto Rican'' pride, because it's how I was raised at home.

It doesn't matter where you call home, as long as you don't forget where you're roots are.

I'm a former New Yorker and I can tell you, it's about self-preservation. It's a tough place. I remember being taught as a kid not to look at anybody when you're out or on a train. Because you just never knew who would snap just for looking at them. Even in Tokyo, I still live by that rule (and stand as close to a wall as possible)

From what I read in other articles, the pusher had been harassing and cussing at other passengers. The poor guy who got pushed ,was trying to calm him down and instead was catapulted into the tracks. There were other folks on the platform,but they ran away. I'm pretty sure if you saw somebody getting stabbed, shot or thrown down like that, many of you wouldn't stick around to see what happens next. Unlike Tokyo, people don't only carry knives.

Having said that, the photographer guy doesn't get a pass. His excuse was that he wasn't strong enough to lift the guy up. But yet he was snapping away during the man's final moments. That's not self-preservation, it's perversion.

7) Ring- the original, because the sequels bordered on the ridiculous.

@magpie Yes, I have seen depression in it's worse form. I suffer from bipolar disorder as well as depression. But I didn't go out and kill anyone or ever wanted to harm my children.

I know what it's like to wake up every day wanting to die or have moments when you think you're in a black hole and thinking you can't get out. Or thinking you're worthless. At my worst, not eating or bathing for days. But mostly, my thoughts were harm to myself,not to others. Even in my darkest moments,never, EVER, did I think of harming another human being. I still knew the difference between right and wrong.

I can understand schizophrenia ,where a person cannot help doing what they do because they hallucinate or have voices in their head. But this guy didn't seem to suffer from that. He was selfish to take another life and make a half-hearted attempt to kill himself.

Poor little girl, she didn't deserve to go out like that. All children ask of us is to be loved and taken care of. And she was betrayed in the cruelest of ways by the person who was to protect her. I hope her dad does time in jail. As this is Japan, he may plead insanity and get off light. But the child deserves some kind of justice.

Why is that people treat homosexuality like it's threatening THEIR way of life? I just don't get it. My sister hid her homosexuality for so many years. It drove her to the point of being an alcoholic. I can't imagine what it's like to have to hide who you are just to satisfy the norm. Finally,when she came out, it was as if a weight was lifted from her shoulders.

I am so proud of her and happy to see her with her wife, who loves her and adores her. Call me a liberal,call me abnormal for wanting gays to have the same rights to marry and have a family like I do. Thumbs me down ,if that is what gets you through the day.

I'm always astounded at how the scammers pull it off. Don't the grannies or mamas ask questions? Or do the scammers know that their targets have sons?

I don't mean to sound stupid, but I really don't get how folks can be so easily bamboozled.
