I tried it a couple of times served differently and it's not for me, so I won't bother again.

Posted in: Are funerals growing obsolete? See in context

After putting the incense pellets in my mouth at my wife's grandfathers funeral (I could only see people from the back and thought they were reaching into a bowl and putting whatever in their mouths) then having to spit them out at the alter in front of everyone, if I die and have a funeral here I will only stipulate that all attendees have to put the incense pellets in their mouths.

If he actually is innocent I very much doubt he would be remaining silent in police custody.....

We must resist all this recent political chest beating cr@p that is conditioning our brains to think war is inevitable, for the sake of our children and their childrens, childrens, children.

Agree Jeff, I actually quite like Kichijoji but avoid going there on the weekends usually because of the crowds.

Posted in: Video of passenger getting dragged off flight in Chicago sparks uproar See in context

United Airlines’ parent company CEO Oscar Munoz late Monday issued a letter defending his employees, saying the passenger was being “disruptive and belligerent.”

THIS is exactly why airline staff can be so rude to people with almost zero comeback, anything you say back to them can be twisted as being disruptive and belligerent. The guy was quite within his rights to be upset, he paid, was seated and told to get off through no fault of his own. The airline and it's staff we're quite clearly the ones being disruptive and belligerent!

How come the US can talk about Assad being bad for dropping barrel bombs on civilians heads, when the US drops plenty of bombs on civilians of other sovereign nations? Don't take everyone else down with you again America.

Posted in: Global reaction mixed after U.S. attacks Syrian gov't base with cruise missiles See in context

****Jimizo - "How about allowing the Syrian ppl to decide for themselves?"

Yes, but that always throws up the possibility of electing the wrong guy and having to sanction, drone or bomb the living daylights out of them.****

So based on that theory, as a lot of people around the world think Americans elected the wrong guy, should a coalition bomb America and replace him?

Turn the screws on him, dismantle his military, facilitate his demise and try to rebuild Syria.

Yeah because that hasn't been tried before has it and how did that work out!?

These doing the rounds is just cracking me up though. Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump AGAIN, TO OUR VERY FOOLISH LEADER, DO NOT ATTACK SYRIA - IF YOU DO MANY VERY BAD THINGS WILL HAPPEN & FROM THAT FIGHT THE U.S. GETS NOTHING!

Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump Now that Obama’s poll numbers are in tailspin – watch for him to launch a strike in Libya or Iran. He is desperate.

Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump Think of it, the Arab League doesn't want to get involved with Syria - but they want us to do their dirty work. How stupid!

Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump For all of those fools that want to attack Syria, the U.S.has lost the vital element of surprise-so stupid-could be a disaster!

"ordinary people won’t be subject to punishment.”

Except that when ordinary people disagree with anything the government is doing and want to make a stand, they're no longer considered ordinary citizens in the eyes of this law!

What I don't get about the 'Koreans' who were born and raised in Japan and only speak Japanese............why not become a Japanese citizen? Still, I too was denied accommodation a few times when I first came to Japan, because i'm a foreigner and it is pretty frustrating.

I honestly have no idea what I would do in a situation where I was innocent but was being accused of groping. I hope I never find out but something is telling me I would probably leg it.

Posted in: Is hanami in Japan actually all that fun? See in context

Yes it's fun but now I have a couple of children in tow I have to limit myself a bit! The only thing I can't stand is the blue tarps everywhere just getting binned. I dislike sitting on tarps anyway (especially when it's hot) but I just don't understand why people don't buy a comfy sheet or picnic mat that they can reuse at the beach etc.

When I took my youngest on a flight for the first time it was to England and I had lot's of things on the IPAD I thought would keep her occupied. The IPAD actually didn't help but after about 2 or 3 hours of trying to keep a wriggling 1 year old under control she discovered the headphone plug and socket. Pulling that in and out kept her quiet for about 2 hours!

Thinking back to the last time I was there, the only lucky thing I can think of is that the other side of the bridge to the side that was attacked was usually busier, as there is the tube station exit and more people walking across that side to the London Eye.
