He wasn't stealing, and furthermore the whole story is just made up. Japanese police will make you say you did what they want to hear, whether correct or not.

Posted in: Japan's unemployment rate falls to 4.3% See in context

Add students who graduated but couldn't find Jobs and so gave up, some are still at school not knowing on what to do. Companies are still laying people off instead of hiring them, trade is down, with high yen and high taxes, how can you create Jobs, then say the rates are going down? You have to be asleep to believe in anything the govt tells you.

Posted in: Honda to build factory in Russia: report See in context

Business comes first, politics lags behind. Business is all about taking risks, you win some, you lose some, but in the long run, you live to accomplish something. Nice start for FDIs. Domestic production has become far much expensive and most business men have lost confidence with the current politicians. who give up a career too soon over emotions. The ones who suffer are the lazy young Japanese kids who don't understand the need to study hard and expand their knowledge globally. Japan is an Island, but people shouldn't think and reason like islanders. They should be more global and less prejudiced , and seek opportunities elsewhere.

what they don't say is that Japan is the second after US in Military spending, yet they are the first to make such noise. doesn't make any sense.

Funny. If Japan ain't close to China, nor south Korea, then who can they be friends with in the whole neighborhood? Most Japanese complain about their neighbors yet they don't see why they are being overtaken, leave alone the military role, but economically. US on the other hand has strong ties with countries like China and Korea, but Japanese people don't see that. I think their biggest problem is failure to accept their faults in the past, have too much pride and somehow they think they are a white nation, other than Asians. The way they reason is one sided and unrealistic, and only creates tension between Japan and it's neighbors.

Posted in: Solitary holdout refuses to leave Fukushima nuclear zone See in context

I think the man made his choice. Furthermore he is getting old and got nothing to lose. Radiation is better than living with cold hearted so called inlaws, and others not blood related but too cold in their hearts to accommodate someone. He probably feels abandoned, just like everyone else. Helping someone is not always giving them money/ material things, but the warmth from ones heart creates comfort. But many people in this country are too cold to each other......

Posted in: Maehara says he got Y590,000 from foreigners in 2005-2010 See in context

As long as it wasn't a bribe or done for the sake of doing favors, I don't see anything with receiving a donation from anyone. I don't see the reason why the should change their names to be accepted as nationals, yet they will always face prejudice and racism in this country. Most politicians are dumb, and so do the people who elect them. Japanese if they really hate donations and other things from foreigners, they should just live in their island and never get anything from the other country......It just doesn' make any sense...

Posted in: Companies impose energy limits amid power crunch See in context

The amount of power produced by a solar Panel cannot even drive a machine, not even enough for a refrigerator. If it was so efficient, lots of companies would have opted for it a long time. Good to save electricity for unnecessary things, but cutting production in Factories and reducing business hours in major industries will only have a negative impact to the economic growth.

Posted in: Japan posts trade deficit in April for first time in 3 months See in context

Mainly because of the yen appreciation which has hampered the Exports by making domestically produced goods more expensive.

It's likely to go down more if they don't implement the right policies to boost the export sector.

In Tokyo there are so many people but it's common to feel lonely and isolated.People have such tiny hearts and I always wonder why. She had reasons to commit suicide, after all maybe she looked around and couldn't find any person real and true to her as a friend and supporter. Life ain't always about money like many people think, nor success. IT's more than that. something non material. May her soul rest in peace.

Posted in: $6.1 mil awarded to Tennessee man in Japan child custody battle See in context

I think it is wrong to prevent the kids seeing their Dad/Mum. It's a selfish act and the government should intervene. The Japanese society is one sided and thinks narrowly whenever it comes to this issue and they always give the excuse of "protecting Japanese women from abusive husbands". Women are also abusive, and shouldn't be treated as the holy ones.

Sad to say but there are lots of depressed people in JP, and hard to find someone to talk to. Love is easy to get but people are too picky here, and coz of that they forget the basic love that ones gives strength and will to live.

It's funny coz most people who give away stuff are usually trying to get rid of them. So it could be a problem. That's why donating cash is quite advisable.

Posted in: The government is considering the introduction of a new tax to finance the huge costs of reconstruction in the Tohoku region following last month's earthquake and tsunami. What are your thoughts on su See in context

In the name of reconstruction, you will lose your freedom, rights and become more enslaved in a system that only benefits a few. When they built the nuclear facility, didn't they ever think of the repercussions? They have been making lots of money since the plant was built, where did all that money go to? The Govt lies to the people while protecting the criminals who fund them, and the public is so dumb to sell themselves at a very cheap price......

Posted in: The government is considering the introduction of a new tax to finance the huge costs of reconstruction in the Tohoku region following last month's earthquake and tsunami. What are your thoughts on su See in context

In the name of reconstruction, the govt is working on it's own hidden agenda. This always happens whenever there is a crisis, they will be the first people to jump into it and take advantage. Same way people sell their own freedom and values in the name of protection. There is more than enough money for the reconstruction. Cut the Military spending. Some projects going to the criminals have no meaning at all apart from sucking the resources from the poor population. where did all the money that the aged population paid in the name of pension go to? Also, they don't mention that over 40% of the population is no longer paying pension, due to lack of trust, after the scandal involving the pension funds. If they increase the Taxes, will they also increase the Salaries of the underpaid employees? Leaves me with lots of questions.

Posted in: Man and daughter die in apparent murder-suicide See in context

I guess they were stressed out. The daughter felt much pain to see his father suffering in great agony. And maybe she didn't have anyone to support and encourage her to move on with life. One of the main reason for high suicide rate in Japan I think has something to do with the cold society and stressed lifestyles.

Posted in: Why did those foreigners who decided to leave Japan in the aftermath of the March 11 disaster come in for so much derision from some people who labeled them with words like 'flyjin?' See in context

There is no need to complain bitterly. I see it as a personal decision. The media is the one that should be blamed to creating panic. I stayed not because I was convinced by the government information regarding the nuclear disaster, I stayed because I had that confidence to do so. If it was Japanese nationals living in a foreign country and something like that happen, they would probably be the first one to leave. So there is no need to use such terms as "Flyjin". Some of my friends left and before they did I advised them if they didn't have any confidence, they could. Hard times either bring people together or tear them apart.

Posted in: No. of people dying alone rises in 'no-relationship' society See in context

It's a sad thing to say in the current times most people have no real human feelings towards each other and they are too much obsessed with material things and looks. Perhaps there is more racism and discrimination in the current times than before when there was little information and people were less educated. It's good to go out and eat, but the kind of relationship most people establish here is that of material gains. In case one lacks that money to go out and eat, then he has to lead a solitary life.
