Maybe winning the Olympics bid will get TEPCO off its hiney and start doing something productive too.

Better pull out the popcorn, because this is about to become one interesting show. Let's see how this goes. I have to ask though:

Can Japan afford it? There's so many issues that need to be addressed right now, like Fukushima. How will Japan afford to fix their nuclear issue and afford to bolster a defense force when the government is Y20 trillion in the hole?

Taking the old saying "skeletons in the closet" way too literal.

If everyone involved with this power plant had actually done their job 2 years ago, none of this would've happened. This is exactly what happens when the government acts like children. You get a bigger mess.

I would've figured that they just don't want to be hit by a car. I know I wouldn't want to be hit by a car.

If two children bicker over a toy, you take the toy away from them. The same should apply here. People want to bicker over a few islands, make the islands their own country. Problem solved.

Considering the prison system he's about to go to, he might want to reconsider that whole extradition part. He'd be lucky if he lasts more than a month.

Posted in: Constitutional watchdog hints it won't block Abe on military changes See in context

If Japan can show that it can handle a military without going down the roads it has gone down in the past, then there shouldn't be a reason why the can't have a deployable military. However, I don't think this administration, due to recent incidents in non-military affairs and slowly hurting ties with other important allies, should be the one who changes that part of the constitution.

Judging by the "logic" given to this old woman, The Japanese Railway should have built a barrier to prevent something like this from happening. Not everyone is able to watch a sickly person or afford someone to watch over someone. The US is far from perfect, but if something here happens, it truly is the person's fault because all the standards are put into place.

Posted in: Will No. 1 reactor at Fukushima become a future tourist spot? See in context

Yup, because I want to have cancer before I'm 30, drink radioactive water, eat contaminated fish, and watch TEPCO pretend like they are doing something past saying, "Oh, yea, emergency", all while taking pictures and staying in a lovely resort.

Posted in: Watchdog says radioactive water at Fukushima an emergency See in context

Highly radioactive water seeping into the ocean from Japan’s crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant is creating an “emergency” that the operator is struggling to contain, an official from the country’s nuclear watchdog said on Monday.

So NOW it's an emergency?

My mother has started doing this to me. She was not happy when I told her she's not getting grandchildren. I don't want to have a kid, but if it happens, it happens. Why do parents keep insisting on prying into our love lives? If we want to be married, we will eventually. If we want to have children, we will eventually. If we want your help, we'll call. Stop trying to dictate our lives. Your job is over.
