And to add insult to injury he'll most probably get a big bill from JR for the disruption to their services.

The judge was a woman? That makes it even harder to comprehend. You would think a woman would would have viewed his behaviour more dimly.

What's wrong with the justice system in Japan? How can a sexual monster who has committed grave offenses over so many years escape a custodial sentence by a simple "sorry mate, it won't happen again"? It beggars belief and is an embarrassment to the country. I'm sure heavier sentences have been laid down for the possession of recreational drugs. Japan should sort its priorities out.

The FIFA ranking system is bizarre, to put it mildly. Belgium only scraped winning their qualifying group for Euro 2016 at the end of the campaign in a group containing the "might" of Wales and Bosnia-Herzegovina. Good team, yes but best in the world, no. France may be in 25th place but I wouldn't bet on Belgium beating them.

I always amuses me to see the 'I don't know' option in polls like this. Surely if you don't know you shoudn't be voting in the poll.

What's the girl's mother thinking about, letting her 2nd year high school aged daughter bring an unemployed loser 8 years her senior into the family home? I guess they are all a load of rubbish. Pity the poor child.

While I understand how he broke under police questioning and grassed up his brother, why did he volunteer the information to his headmaster in the first place? That was stupid.

It's quite ironic that your stage name is Peace Out yet you say the cop earned his broken wrist.

I took on the free trial last night, it doesn't seem any better than Hulu. I hadn't even heard of most of the shows. No House of Cards sucks too, Hulu only showed season 1 of that.

In this case though all you would have heard was loud noises and a scream from behind closed doors, it wouldn't have been absolutely clear anyone was being attacked. Getting involved would have meant going upstairs and ringing the doorbell. I don't know if so many people would do that.

There are always a lot of "have a go hero" people posting on any crime story on Japan Today. I wonder if they really would get involved in a live situation like this one and the countless others before it....I have my doubts.

Another bad thing about HULU is 90% of the documentaries are dubbed into Japanese rather than subtitled. All the National Geographic and Discovery Channel stuff. I can't understand why they don't put up the subtitled versions. That was a major disappointment for me when I signed up. I hope Netflix doesn't have this problem.

BBC World is rubbish, in my opinion. It's just a never-ending repeat of World Business News, from what I see when I watch it in the hotel on holiday.

I hope the content is good. The content of Japanese HULU is vastly inferior to that of American HULU.

Maybe her husband is very busy at work (easily possible in Japan) or often away on business. And as she said, she enjoys the dynamics of male friends. I can understand that, I enjoy the company of female friends too. I don't just want to hang out with the lads talking about football all the time.

There's is absolutely no need to have so much voltage running through a fence that it can kill a human. A gentle shock would be enough to deter any animal. I remember as kids in the UK we used to touch them as a dare (stupid dare, admittedly) and it was just a minor jolt you got from it. Some idiot here must have just plugged it into the mains then let it enter the river. Prosecutions for negligence are in order here.

17 year old = minor He'll get a lenient sentence. They've got to change that archaic law.

I hate being on a busy train and someone is sitting in the aisle seat with their bag(s) taking the seat next to them despite many people standing and there being a luggage storage rack overhead. That's the height of rudeness to me.

I've taken up the 3 month trial. What I like about it is that random bands, mainly from my youth whose music isn't available to download or buy are on it. I do find it a bit user-unfriendly though as the article states.

If some nutter is hell-bent on doing something crazy there isn't much anyone can do to prevent it. You might be able to stop them doing it in a certain location but they'll just do it somewhere else instead.

Easy to say from behind a keyboard in the safety of your house natsu823. Would you have risked being burned alive with him by jumping in Bruce Willis style? I bet you wouldn't, the safest thing to do if you knew what he was about to do would be to get away from him as quickly as possible.
