By the time restrictions go, I'll have missed 3 whole seasons of live J.league and my body is missing onsen.

Each year I have been designing for myself an itinerary for travel in Kyushu. 2023 looks good for journeys on the new Kamome.

"Go back to the sport then pal. I have travelled the world as a railway enthusiast. Leave these people to enjoy their hobby."

Trainspotting in Scotland in the early 1960s all steam, then gradually (sadly) replaced by diesel.

I love the variety of trains (in Kyushu mainly) .

A harmless hobby for 99% of enthusiasts. Level crossing gates are where I like to photograph: safe and not crowded.

The one good idea the inept former PM of Australia, Abbott, had was to push for the country to purchase Sōryū submarines. They're already proven, conventional vessels, more suited to defence of Australia than the nuclear-powered ones from the US or UIK which may be delivered in 20 years - obsolete.

China is not threatening Australia. The bombastic, aggressive comments from Australia's far-right Defence Minister are not conducive to good relations.

China is Australia's biggest trading partner. The US is Australia's greatest trade rival. Any trade Australia has lost by this and similar comments by the PM (who is totally ignorant on foreign affairs) has been snapped up by the US, who must be laughing at this.

It's good to see them having fun, with the stress of competition over for a while.

The principal backers and beneficiaries were US corporations and other bodies - Big Pharma etc.

Scrap TPP completely. It was designed knowing China would not agree to such a scheme giving the mega-rich power to take Governments to court.
