It's not like Japan is sending unwanted cars to the US, there's simply a high demand for Japanese cars. Unfortunately for US auto makers, there's very little demand for American made cars here.

The only way to truly fix that, is to change the style & quality of American cars to fit the needs of Japanese consumers.

Any other action is only smoke & mirrors, designed to mask ones real agenda.

Wolfpack, wether you believe in global warming or not, human beings DO have an impact on the environment, and environmental imbalances, can cause changes or instability in the weather patterns. Just because I tended to vote Democrate more often than Republican doesn't mean I agree with all theories of global warming, nor should ones political affiliation be used to assume their every belief.

How did this thread become a pro or anti Trump topic?

I'm blessed that my family didn't have any serous troubles, other than a few downed trees near their house but that wasn't the case for everyone. Fortunately, there're lots of people who put aside their political preferences, to help all those in need!

Its true that I dislike Trump but who on this thread, actually has real faith in ANY politician???

@Goodlucktoyou. Actions speak louder than words. Since the end of WW2 if we look at which country has used military force to occupy another

If you're speaking of ones actions or what country has used its military force for war or occupying foreign countries, you MUST be speaking of the United States of America, no other country even comes close!

Im personally against ALL "war games" that are being done outside one's own military bases!

These kind of things never happened before Merlin Entertainment group merged with the original Denmark creators and owners of Legoland. They're an investment group out of the U.K. and though they own many theme parks around the world, they're more conserned about money & liability than family fun.

Almost all of the floor employees are very nice and hardworking, including some office workers, they were only doing what they're told to do by their bosses.

The Asian regional manager really has no clue of how things are run here, they visit for a short time and believe everything the brown nosing GM and HR tell them.

Fortunatly this situation is only unique to Japan LDC and will now change but the same people responsible for these policies, will likely remain in their job positions with just a slap of their wrist.

Legos really are nice products, something constructive & creative for children, without requiring wifi. I hope the original Lego Denmark is able to continue buying back their company and restore the brand to what it was.

No, all of us are not to blame. Those illegally entering a foreign country are to blame. It’s like saying all of use are to blame for shoplifting because we do not have the will to stop all shoplifting. I have travelled to a number of foreign countries and would never dream of doing so illegally or remain illegally. If I were to be caught and deported for doing such a thing I would not be in the slightest bit surprised.

"I was saying we are all to blame when it comes to our past and present design of imagration policies. I'm not saying we are to blame for all human beings that break the law." Maybe you believe the present imagration system and policies are perfect?

The system needs to change and be improved! That still won't fix the root problem but it can resolve some of the problems we argue over. Until each countries governments truly take better care of their citizens, there will always be families that try to come to a better place.

One of the reasons you would never dream of illegally crossing a boarder is because your family doesn't live in squalor with no hope to improve things in your country. Honestly ask yourself, what would you do if you couldn't make enough money to simply feed your family? How long would it take before your legal morality changed to desperation?

I'm glad that people are protesting against the separation of children from families.

The sad part is how this has become another divisive issue, us & them, left & right, conservative or liberal. The imagration policies and border issues have been a mess for a long long time and all of us are to blame. But the thing is, all of us have the potential to fix it or at least improve the present system. This will never happen if we keep blaming the other side as the cause, people will always react defensively while to root of the problems never get solved. I certainly don't have all the answers but I'll bet collectively, we CAN create a solution.

So Abe claimed to postpone the tax hike twice, because the economy was too fragile. Meanwhile there's this JT article,

Japan's Abenomics stimulus program is sputtering just as the government and the central bank wanted to tap the brakes, heightening the chance they will be forced to fight the next economic downturn with a near-empty policy arsenal.

Please show us all how japans economy is no longer fragile.

The only reason Abe postponed previous tax hikes was because it would have hurt his ratings and the timing didn't fit his real agenda.

By early December 2017, the Israeli air force had confirmed it had attacked arms convoys of the Syrian government and Lebanon’s Hezbollah nearly 100 times during within over six years of the conflict in Syria.[28]

And that's just an example of what he's finally admitted to, and now he's lying by saying they've stayed out of the Syrian civil war.

Though I tried to extend the olive branch, I see it's still only a "us or them" topic for you.

Black or white, with no exceptions, no room to ever change.

You haven't attacked anyone for questioning the safety of vaccinations? Lol, you lump all of them into the same catagory of being ignorant of science and worse.

While I believe science is very important tool for the world, many scientist and their conclusions are often proven to be wrong. Did you believe in the science that said smoking cigarettes was perfectly safe? Do you still believe in electric shock therapy simply because science showed it to be helpful? Its still being practiced today and is legal, therefore those scientist must be right, eh?

You discredit all scientific research (in regards to vaccination) unless it's only performed by CDC scientist or those with big pharma connections, the very scientist who you say will remove perfectly safe ingredients, simply for concern over public opinion.

I'll let you have the last word because I'm sure you will but this is my final reply on this article. Have at it.

I guess will just have to agree, to disagree and move on.

The conversation started by me stating that vaccinations should be a personal choice and not a mandatory one. You replied to that and I anknoleged you made a good argument.

Then you had trouble with me posting the official CDC list of most commonly used ingredients in vaccines and attack anyone who questions the safety of them.

Ive never had any vaccinations as a child, due to medical reasons. As an adult, I simply chose not to have them. I'm 53 now and Chickenpox is the only trouble I've had.

Though I've traveled around the world a half a dozen times and have surely been in contact with many infectious viruses & bacteria, I'm still fine.

Maybe I've just been lucky or my immune system is strong due to genetics, gradual exposure to infectious agents my body could deal with, diet or everything combined.

In short, I don't see the point in continuing to reply to you in a defensive manor because nothing positive will occur from it.

You have your way and I have mine. I wish you happiness and good health!

As most people, I don't really know exactly what harmful effect Thimerosal has

Then I think you're wasting your time talking about it further.

"You brought it up, I only posted the official CDC list of most commonly used ingredients used in vaccines and you ran with it making many generalizations and assumptions.

Are you an expert on the topic, the one who used to use another name on these threads?"

It has been assessed and no evidence of harmful effects has been shown. In science, that is as far as they go for any ingredient, because it's as far as science can go.

"Yet, those so called exexpert scientist decided to remove it just for fun?"

To me, it's just like eating food with lots of preservatives

To you perhaps, but it isn't and it has no bearing on vaccine safety either.

None of those preservatives are a health benefit

Keeping food in edible condition, preventing growth of harmful bacteria or mold. Not being at risk of botulism is a distinct health benefit.

"Never had any trouble from any of those things with the food I buy, maybe you should try some more quality foods."

The links you gave say absolutely nothing about the CDC scientist or vaccine manufacturers removing Thimerosal because of public opinion on the topic.

However, the manufacturer stated they removed it as a precautionary messure.

As most people, I don't really know exactly what harmful effect Thimerosal has or doesn't have on the human body. To me, it's just like eating food with lots of preservatives, since none of those preservatives are a health benefit, I assume they're put there simply for a cheap way keep their profits to a maximum rather than take a loss.

I never said anything about vaccines being the cause of autism.

True, but autism is the main focus of people who focus on thimerosal in vaccines and dismiss the scientific evidence concerning safety. Perhaps you weren't aware of that?

"It wasn't my main focus nor did I mention anything about it until you used the topic to deflect."

I did say that, though I didn't actually specify that it had been removed from all vaccines, as I have always been aware that it hasn't.

"Ah, so your statement was similar to saying that MSG has been removed from Chinese food. A generalization that's true and false."

Rather than confirming that fact, you only imply that anyone who is against the use of Thimerosal being added into vaccines, also believe vaccines cause autism.

Perhaps you took it that way, but I'm aware that people are against it for a bunch of other reasons as well. Rarely reasons that are soundly scientific, however: in other words, they actively reject the science available on the subject that shows no evidence of harm.

"It was the "scientist" who removed Thimerosal from some vaccines and you claim they only removed it because of public opinion, says a lot about their moral compass as a "scientist".

"Do you have any proof that scientist only removed Thirmerosal because of public opinion or is that just your assumption as well?"

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I'm familiar with herd immunity theory, though I cant find any studies that show this is the problem, related to measles or the situation in Okinawa.

Ok, so you're concerned with the 5% who don't get immunity after receiving vaccination or those who can't be vaccinated because of other health issues. You make a good point and I can't argue against it.

As for Thimerisal being removed from all children's vaccines, it's not true. Yes it has been removed from many but not all.

From CDC source

The article starts by saying, "Why is Thimerisal still being used in some children's flu vaccines?"

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Posted in: Reports of measles rising in Okinawa; damage to tourism feared See in context

If the measles vaccine is so effective, then what's the worry about people who choose to not have it? The only risk would be to themselves, right? It sounds like a personal choice rather than a mandatory one.

Either way, people should at least read the ingredient list of any vaccine before blindly having them.

Here is the official CDC list of most common ingredients added to vaccines.

suspending fluid (e.g. sterile water, saline, or fluids containing protein);

preservatives and stabilizers to help the vaccine remain unchanged (e.g. albumin, phenols, and glycine); and

adjuvants or enhancers to help the vaccine to be more effective.

Common substances found in vaccines include:

Aluminum gels or salts of aluminum which are added as adjuvants to help the vaccine stimulate a better response. Adjuvants help promote an earlier, more potent response, and more persistent immune response to the vaccine.

Antibiotics which are added to some vaccines to prevent the growth of germs (bacteria) during production and storage of the vaccine. No vaccine produced in the United States contains penicillin.

Egg protein is found in influenza and yellow fever vaccines, which are prepared using chicken eggs. Ordinarily, persons who are able to eat eggs or egg products safely can receive these vaccines.

Formaldehyde is used to inactivate bacterial products for toxoid vaccines, (these are vaccines that use an inactive bacterial toxin to produce immunity.) It is also used to kill unwanted viruses and bacteria that might contaminate the vaccine during production. Most formaldehyde is removed from the vaccine before it is packaged.

Monosodium glutamate (MSG) and 2-phenoxy-ethanol which are used as stabilizers in a few vaccines to help the vaccine remain unchanged when the vaccine is exposed to heat, light, acidity, or humidity.

Thimerosal is a mercury-containing preservative that is added to vials of vaccine that contain more than one dose to prevent contamination and growth of potentially harmful bacteria.

Hey Mark

The capsule hotels are usually a last resort once the trains stop around midnight or if you had a few too many beers. They're ok but not great, the other posters have accurately discribed the down side.

As for the homeless in Hawaii, that's a complicated challenge for sure but I doubt capsule hotels are the solution.

If you're from Oahu maybe you've heard of (Twinkle) a lady who runs a homeless camp on the West side. They all have to contribute work to live there and no drugs allowed in the camp, if either rule is broken, your kicked out. There system is much better than anything I've seen in Waikiki or Pearl Harbor.

Many people hate war but many people mistakenly justify the need for them as well.

Well, I read all of your comments back to the 7th and while I agree with many of them, I saw nothing mentioning which country has been involved in the most military confrontations since WW2. Though I'm sure you know, it's America. Theyre are also number one with having foreign military bases around the world. No other country even comes close, so while you may hate very specific leaders, there's one country responsible for more destruction and innocent lives being lost than the worst Syrian, Russian, NK and Chinese leaders could ever hope for.

Wether you like or hate Trump, wether you're a "consecutive" or "liberal", 99% of you support military action in Syria. You only disagree on how it's done and who's calling the shots.

I remember the day that most people realized that the Middle East could never be fixed by America getting militarily involved, aka, war. I guess those days are long gone.
