Well.........climbing in the afternoon is more comfortable as one can see the way to the top. But it is also a little discouraging as one really gets to see the steep slopes one has to climb.
Take my advise, climb at night. This way one doesnt feel like climbing too high and keeps going on. Also the fun is to advance - slowly and steadily.
If you keep going on till the 9th station then you can avoid the early morning crowds on the way between the 8th and the 9th station.
BUT IT IS REALLY CHILLY AT THE 9th STATION DURING THE NIGHT.
