Not to mention that soccer is cheaper to play than baseball!

It will be a multi-use stadium with a retractable roof capable of hosting all kinds of sports and concerts. I am glad they are including vertiports for flying vehicles. I do wish there would be a waterfront hospital accessible by water ambulances, though, which will be useful in the event of a natural disaster.

Anyways, I just want to say that I am glad Japanese identity is shifting from a racial to a national identity. If your soul is Japanese, it should not matter how you look.

But I do not like those who dye their hair blonde or red, yes, they are still gorgeous, but the hair colour does not suit them. I honestly do not know if you can class that as racist, but I hope not.

The irony is that blond hair is an Asian mutation. It originated in an area west of Lake Baikal and was brought to northern Europe by Asian immigrants like the ANEs. Native Western Europeans were dark skin, dark haired and blue eyed peoples and only became lighter and blonder when they interbred with these immigrants along with Anatolian farmers.

Compare her to the Instagram bombshells and Western beauty contest contestants and you can see the difference.

I watch her Youtube videos and she is beautiful. This picture does not do her justice.

Anyways, if Brazilians can keep trotting out blond, Germanic-looking contestants instead of people with native ancestries why can't Japan?

Posted in: Japan's frontier islanders decry lack of gov't plan to aid Taiwanese fleeing attack See in context

If the Japanese government starts talking too openly about all it's plans to deal with refugees from Taiwan when China invades, it sends China the message: "we're expecting you to do it" and sends Taiwan the message: "we've given up on you". That doesn't help anyone.

Regardless, it is not just potential Taiwanese refugees Japan has to consider but also South Korean refugees if the North invades. Or even North Korean refugees if the Kim regime collapses. I think the Japanese government needs to build a refugee processing center and infrastructure on Tsushima island that can handle all contingencies and also build a hospital ship like I have been requesting for years.

Also, the Phillipines needs to start developing a plan too.

More likely at the rate Japan is going Japan will lose the kurils they do have now to Russia if war starts.

There are less than 6 million Russians scattered all over the Far East vs. 125 million highly disciplined and organized Japanese people living only a couple of hours away. If Japan becomes serious about war, Russia has no chance because Japan has the mass and logistics advantage and modern war is all about logistics.

Also, did not the Chinese foreign minister try to recruit Japan into a race war because the west can't tell Asians apart? If I were Medvedev, I would be more worried about a China-Japan axis forming.

Here's an idea: why not completely dismantle the imperial family system.

This dynasty is older than Jesus. It would be a shame to dismantle such a historic tradition.

While not condoning the act - pretty duh - a fingernail scratching a pillar hardly seems to be at the top of the table re vandalism.

Houses of worship deserve greater consideration. I can not imagine carving my name in the Vatican or a mosque in Mecca.

If only you knew the power of the dark side...

Ha! Well, it's true. To Europeans and North, Central and South Americans, Asians are just Chinese.

To most Northern and Western Europeans, Eastern Europeans are just some sort of Russian.

Koreans ,ethnic Japanese ,Chinese are predominantly Han as it's the largest gene pool in SE Asia and the world.

Lots of Japanese have more in common with Mr. Shoigu than Mr. Wang. Especially the northern half of the country. Also Japan is not in South-East Asia.

Becoming a usa citizen and Becoming American isn't the same thing .

The first Americans came from Jomon Japan. Google Kelp Highway.

Germany also faces an aging population and only maintains its current level through mass immigration.

Even with mass immigration, Germany's population is still shrinking. Also, in 30 years, there is no guarantee that even Germany will remain at the 80-88 million level.

A poor-quality vehicle from a dangerous, totalitarian dictatorship, made with forced labor and zero concern for the environment, which will send all your personal data to the CCP? No thanks.

THIS. Especially the part about sending your personal data back to Chinese intelligence. Also rather than electric vehicles I think hydrogen-powered cars and trucks that can be refueled by emergency drone delivery service when you are stuck in rural areas is the future.

Posted in: Disaster to destination: Fukushima woos tourists with snow See in context

However in reality Fukushima as a name isn't a popular destination and isn't likely to be again.

I think they need to rebrand and change the name. Maybe build a new capital in Aizu and change the prefecture's name to the "Capital District" or something similar. Moving the government there will also force it to pay greater attention to the clean-up activities and spur investments.

Actually 400 isn't enough. Japan needs 6,000 ballistic missiles like Korea has in order to defend itself.

Japan will fight to the last Korean. Thank you Korea.

Japan is the weakest country in the region, this is why North Korean missiles are headed toward Japan.

North Korea has to save the majority of its missiles for South Korea and the US. It can't waste most of them on Japan.

Posted in: National treasure-class mirror, sword found in 4th-century tomb in Japan See in context

This was a time of lots of Korean and Chinese migration, so the objects probably have roots to those countries.

There is an interesting hypothesis that horse-riding Scythians or Huns who couldn't penetrate China's Great Wall decided to come to Japan instead and built lots of kurgans. This is also why you won't find these kurgan mounds in China. Some people also think Jews mad their way to Japan along the Silk road and introduced all kinds of shinto rituals that you won't find in either China or Korea.
