The bridgehead on the right bank of the Dnieper, which the corporate media has been promoting for well over a month, talking about how it's going to be used for an attack on Crimea and etc has completely collapsed. 1Many thousands of Ukrainian soldiers dead. Years worth of military production in the collective West gone up in smoke. 100s of millions of $ we are all going to pay for via inflation gone.

No, he (Assange) was jailed for breach of bail conditions.

FFS....... You are right. A warrant was issued for him on ridiculous rape charges, where the charge wasn't initiated by the "victim" but by a right-wing politician just after he exposed US war crimes. As soon as he was in custody, those patently ridiculous charges were dropped and the US indictment was announced.

Basically it amounts to Sweden, the UK and USA being violently against a genuinely free press and willing to go to almost any length to hide US war crimes.

To this day, those who committed the crime or those who ordered it haven't been punished. Only the person who revealed the crimes has been punished.

US-style freedom circa 2024.

The Cowards of Russia Star would be more appropriate.

The cowards of Russia? Like Russians generally and Russian armies having proven themselves over the last 1500 years to be cowardly? May I ask what country full of brave men you hail from?

Putin is a corrupt, kleptocratic, power hungry, manipulating person backed by an equally corrupt, kleptocratic, power hungry, manipulative government. The vast majority of people in the world see the truth

You may decide that is true because the "free" press told you it's true but Russians, according to the same "free" press, don't and for Putin, that's what matters.

What are you qualifications to speak for the vast majority of people in the world? I can tell you for a fact, the vast majority of Europeans don't think that.

Aleksandr Valov, Rashid Maysigov, Abdulmumin Gadzhiev, Aleksei Slobodenyuk, Dmitry Ivanov, Vladislav Malushenko, Aleksandr Dorogov, Yan Katelevskiy, Ivan Safronov, Artem Prokhorov, Yevgeny Moskvin, Aleksandra Bayazitova, Denis Shaikin, Maria Ponomarenko, Vladimir Panfilov, Igor Kuznetsov, Andrei Novashov, Mikhail Afanasyev, Sergey Mikhaylov, and Evan Gershkovich.

I looked into the first 3 of these.

No.1: Sentenced for extortion.

No.2: Caught red handed distributing illegal drugs.

No.3: Caught red handed recruiting and raising funds for ISIS.

Julian Assange is however jailed for exposing war crimes.

The logic of the "free" press.

Russia is bad because Putin is extremely popular.

Any election held in Russia is staged and unfair and therefore, Putin is a dictator......

The "free" press definitely has contempt for the critical thinking of the general population.

Why wouldn't he? It's not like the EU mired deeper and deeper in debt while barely growing at all. The Russian economy is right now growing at about 5.5% and for the year, it will be about 3.7% growth. While debt is at 0.5% and falling. As opposed to USA debt at about 130% and growing rapidly.

True enough. He hasn't been sworn in yet.

History? It's nonsense. Utter nonsense from a pro-Russian authoritarian. Of course the pro-invasion crowd propagate his message, but that doesn't make it any truer.

So you do know about the history of Slovakia than him. Thanks for the clarification. I think that's enough from me. Enjoy the discussion.

With the sun setting rapidly on the American Empire (and praying they don't start a nuclear war), a lot of primarily American pseudo-leftists are calling it the most powerful empire in history.

In reality it's not even close! It's had a peer competitor for all of the Empire's existence (Russia) and another for most of it's existence (China). And now the former is rising again while the latter is, relatively speaking, going through the stratosphere. All this in only a little over 100 years. The great empires of the past like China, Macedon, Roma. Mongolia, even the Vikings lasted 100s or 1000s of years (China).

Nope, if nuclear war is avoided, the American Empire won't even be a footnote in history textbooks. If nuclear war can't be avoided, there will be no history.

Dear @2020hindsigts

Thanks for the link. It's really the damnedest of things when one actually follows the link and reads the article. You should try it some day.

“The decision by Russia to exit the Black Sea Grain Initiative is a stab [in] the back,” tweeted Abraham Korir Sing'Oei, a senior foreign ministry official from Kenya.

Then just after that: "Sing'Oei's was a solitary voice, however. Rather than reproaching Moscow, African leaders have remained largely silent."

So it comes down to who this guy is. A DuckDuckGo search lists him as "Minister for Diaspora affairs" and that he is on the payroll of the Western funded "Open Government Society".

This is a political move to stave off criticism of removing Ukrainian grain from the market. As expected, African countries are furious with Russia for not renewing the grain deal.

What Africans do seem to agree with is the statement by the Russians, right up to Putin himself, saying NATO is trying to prevent Russian grain and fertilizer going to poor countries. It would be a par for the course for US/NATO to do that. They've always been ruled by truly murderous fascists. It's just not the material conditions for them are so reduced, they can no longer conceal the fact.

But it is true?

Posted in: U.N. chief urges Russia to revive grain deal with Ukraine, warning 'the most vulnerable' will suffer See in context

The vast majority of the grain went to Western European pigs, not needy Africans. The Russians did however state that despite the efforts of NATO powers to prevent it, Russian grain would go to needy people mostly in Africa, free of charge.

There is almost no possibility of the deal being revived. The Russians are systematically destroying the infrastructure needed to move the grain. Not only in the Black Sea but also the river crossings across from Romania and Poland. If you are in Europe, stock up on pasta ASAP.

In other news, on the battle field more and more 16~18 year-old Ukrainian males along with females are dying. And now people with varying degrees of retardation are being mobilized.

That sounds like a lot and would be a disaster for Ukraine.

sorry, but I don’t know what Telegram is.

https://twitter.com/konecna_romana/status/1682621175795417095?s=20

Telegram is an app which is hard to explain. It's kind of like Skype, Line, Twitter rolled into one but different. You can find it by searching for "Telegram download" and then you have to find channels you are interested in.

The video above probably won't be up for long. I suspect the only reason it's still up is because it's not English or Russian tweet.

If it was ht by the missile the Ukrainian regime claims hit, the church would no longer exist. Western regimes know full well it was hit by a stray Ukrainian air defense missile.

On the other hand, video has emerged from 2 days ago if an entire Ukrainian armored division surrendering to the Russians without firing a shot. 28 Leopard 2A4 tanks, 21 PT-91 tanks, 8 Krab guns and 30 T-72 tanks. Armored and mechanized units also use 1,098 BWP-1 infantry fighting vehicles. No count was given for the number of soldiers but from the video it seems about 1000.

Twitter is trying but at this point, not succeeding in censoring the video. Mostly because it's all over Telegram. If not for Telegram, probably the only Russian media would be able to share it but that is banned in all of Europe except Serbia. So lucky we live in "a free society" where one can practice "free speech".

This one is even larger than the famous one made near Malaya Tokmachka in early June.

Yeah, right.

The truth can hurt but you should get used to it.

I quoted from this news report. The dam is 'on topic'.

Why don't you want to answer.? Who do you think was responsible for the Nordstream explosions?

-7 ( +6 / -13 )

And yet the AFU continue to control the village of Pyatikhatka. Kind of ruins the credibility of that report.

According to who? As of 5 hours ago, the surviving, not captured AFU were fleeing across fields on foot.

Off topic.

You brought up the dam. So I'm just wondering what the reason (in your grubby little mind) was for the Russians to blow up Nordstream as well.

-4 ( +7 / -11 )

Posted in: Ukraine says eight villages retaken from Russian forces See in context

What's the reason that you think that they did?

I missspoke. What was the reason you think the Russians blew up Nordstream?

I'm sure they didn't. It was the US regime. At least, the operation was managed by the US regime but Sy Hersch says the Norwegian AF triggered the explosions.

Posted in: Ukraine says eight villages retaken from Russian forces See in context

The AFU launched a massive attack on the village of Pyatikhatka. The Ossetian 19th division defending the village fell back. It was a trap. The Ossetians the counter attacked on the flanks, put the village in a semi circle and cut off the AFU inside the village. Many AFU killed or wounded and captured. Only a few made it out by abandoning heavy weapons and fleeing across fields on foot. The captured included a group of with British patches on their uniforms.

This all happened in Zaporozhye oblast which is the homeland of the Cossacks. Cossacks warned NATO mercenaries not to be taken captive because the Cossacks would not grant them any leniency! Not sure what the attitude of Ossetians toward NATO mercenaries is but I think it's safe to say if those captives were British mercenaries, they are in grave danger.

Pure propaganda without any links to back it up.

As reported by the BBC it is illegal in Russia to even say how many Russian troops have been killed.

Really? Whatever you say. I'm not interested in chasing up links for you when I agreed with your basic premise. I don't read or take seriously the BBC but I trust you know what you are talking about.

I'm just wondering if you feel those figures for respective losses are favorable for NATO and the AFU?
