Al Franken is the unstable one. He claims to be a "reformed Jew" which means he is too cheap to belong to a synagogue, but when he feels threatened he will throw out the code words: "anti-Semitism" and "holocaust."

No Laguna, Medicaid in NOT insurance, its free healthcare (aka WELFARE) for low-income people.

Posted in: New U.S. Congress prepares to undo Obamacare, weigh Trump personnel picks See in context

Dems say over 13M people have enrolled in Obamacare, but this is extremely misleading since you learn you’re eligible for Medicaid when you fill out an application for health insurance on your ACA health insurance exchange. If the exchange determines that you qualify for Medicaid in your state, it will forward that information to Medicaid, starting the Medicaid application process. Since you submitted your initial health insurance application to an Obamacare health insurance exchange, it can be confusing when you end up receiving Medicaid instead of a private Obamacare plan. Anyone with half a brain knows that Medicaid is not insurance ITS WELFARE paid for by people who pay taxes!!!

Posted in: Trump cruises to Electoral College victory despite protests See in context

Here's a thought. I'm all for eliminating the Electoral College, but in its place every US citizen must have a federal I.D. only issued by U.S. government. To obtain this I.D. the person must produce a birth certificate, U.S. Passport or naturalization certificate or any verifiable form of I.D. (not including a Drivers License) that proves citizenship. This I.D. would be required to vote in any U.S. election. Instead of just criticizing my post how about anyone propose a system that would improve the current electoral system....

Posted in: Japan Inc warns of global trade contraction under Trump presidency: poll See in context

toshiko, you need to do your homework. The only difference between a Japanese car model sold in Japan and the same model sold in the US is the safety features. The US has much higher safety standards, thus the added reinforcement to the car frame; the average US model is 30 to 40 kg heavier than the same model sold in Japan.

Posted in: Japan Inc warns of global trade contraction under Trump presidency: poll See in context

tinawatanabe, you are too young to know this, but in the late 70's and early 80's Japanese car companies were forced to open "screwdriver" factories in the US due to the enormous pressure from the US government, the media and American public opinion. The "free trade" party is over for Japan & China. As of January 20th the US will have a real trade negotiator looking out for the American workers.

Posted in: Japan Inc warns of global trade contraction under Trump presidency: poll See in context

What Japan Inc. means is the party is over. No more currency manipulation or charging $4,000 to $10,000 tariff on US-made cars imported to Japan while they get a free ride in the US by opening screwdriver car factories in America...

No one can dispute if it weren't for the Electoral College both candidates would have only campaigned in the 5 or 6 most populous states. Bill Clinton warned Hillary's campaign not to ignore the American heartland and he was poop-pooped by Podesta. She didn't even go to Wisconsin and it came back to bite her.
