There are roads in Japan you could drive at 170km without risking injuring others, irrespective of the law here of course. Or as others suggested, go to Germany. I drove at speeds faster than that in the Australian outback too. The speed isn't the issue, it just depends where you are doing it. There are cars capable of remaining under control at those speeds.

Seems pretty simple to me. Big debt= spend less so it doesn't get bigger.

Not a hoax. Bing it. (for those who fear the Google). The glitch is verified. effective. Power لُلُصّبُلُلصّبُررً ॣ ॣh ॣ ॣ 冗 <> @Frederic Bastiat

This is not the correct text actually This is an old version that provided similar functionality back in iOS6 days. I know most news outlets are posting that this is the code causing the issues but they are uninformed. The current text looks like this: http://jailbreaky.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/malicious-text-e1432704058975.png

I think as humans develop and receive better education over time, religion will phase out for it's silliness.

Posted in: Temperature tops 30 degrees in Tokyo for first time this year See in context

@KnowBetter

I just can't stand stepping out of my place into that heat after just taking a cool refreshing shower and then being pressed into a barely air conditioned train car after that sweaty walk to the station. Then finally you get to work and the office ladies have the AC set to 28c as if they were trying to hatch eggs at work.

I couldn't have put in in better words myself.

@toshiko: I am aware of this. The title wrote "may be tried as adults". Hence the confusion.

Just get them to pay up front by credit card if they want to eat there. If someone cancels then they have to pay a relevant cancellation charge, 100% day before, 80% week before etc. No discrimination necessary.

So this is water with a bunch of chemicals to make it taste like yogurt? I don't see the appeal at all...

As much as I love Japan and the Japanese, some things they do just drives me crazy.

Posted in: 'Final Fantasy XV' and Coleman team up for camping scenes See in context

To me it looks like the camping scene will just replace the old style tent recovery item. It looks like there will be banter and some scripted action to make it a bit more involved as opposed to the usual dum-de-dum-dum of the music and fade to black. As for product placement, provided it's done tastefully and looks authentic rather than blatant advertising, I think it will be fine.

Posted in: The PS4 is selling like hot cakes all over the world…except in Japan. But why? See in context

@moondog

Would you consider reading a book a waste of time? Or going to an art exhibition? Or watching a live sports event? Or taking a walk through a park? Others may consider these a waste of time, but it's just how people like to enjoy their free time.

Posted in: Do you support same-sex marriages? See in context

I don't think there should be any restriction on who marries who regardless of gender or sexual orientation. However, marriage is an old religious tradition that needs to be reviewed in general.
