Any “achievement” by Say It Ain’t So, Sho will always have an asterisk next to it.

TaiwanisNotChina,

Nope. The sanctions imposed were an offshoot of the Abraham Accords brokered by the Trump administration and the Arab nations that signed it.

During his presidency, Donald Trump's sanctions had reduced Iran's oil export to less than 400,000 barrels a day. Once Biden lifted those sanction, Iran's oil exports jumped to over 2.8 million barrels a day. 2.4 million times $70 a barrel or $168 million a day or $61 billion a year. That comes out to nearly $200 billion in additional terrorist funding over the past 3 years. Biden’s legacy will be he funds wars.

Never forget: To date, this U.S. administration has gifted Iran $83 billion.

Let the G7 have their toothless “We’re very, very mad at you” hoedown. Israel will do what IT needs to do to protect its citizens.

President Marcos should just ask Biden to park a carrier battle group off of Subic and an amphibious ready group off of the 2nd Thomas Shoal. Let's park another one off Taiwan and send a surface action group on a freedom of navigation run through the South China Sea. Japan could protect their homeland with their navy and the ships we have homeported there. Then all those battle groups could visit South Korea on a rotational basis. Think there would be just a little Chinese hypertension if all that happened?

Posted in: Ohtani's ex-interpreter charged with stealing $16 mil from baseball star in sports betting case See in context

therougou,

You conveniently forget how this whole event started: that Mizuhara admitted to a U.S. sports channel that Ohtani paid his gambling debts, only to do an about face the very next day. Yes, yes, I get it: You live your life vicariously through Ohtani. Unfortunately for you, Mizuhara confessed that Say It Ain’t So, Sho was linked to his illegal gambling. Can’t unring that bell.

Since Ohtani gave this guy access to his bank account for years, that makes him complicit in the scandal; like a person driving a getaway car is just as guilty as the person who robs a bank.

Sure, MlB will broom this because he’s too big of a cash cow, but the stink of being linked to illegal gambling already has and will follow Ohtani for the rest of his baseball career and his life.

“It appears you are not familiar with the US legal system, which is unfortunate.“

It appears it is you who is not familiar with our U.S. legal system (we have a little thing called the IRS that is still investigating Ohtani), which is unfortunate.

The stench of scandal overshadows anything Ohtani does on the field. Personally, I think he should not even be allowed in any baseball stadium until the IRS (MLB will broom the matter) clears him of any wrong doing.

Posted in: Ohtani says he never bet on sports; claims interpreter Mizuhara stole money, told lies See in context

It”s impossible to believe the interpreter could take $4.5 million out of Ohtani’s account without

Ohtani knowing;

his agent knowing;

his business manager knowing;

his accounting firm knowing

At the very least it was a $$$ gift to the guy. If so, you have to ask yourself why didn’t Ohtani’s conga line of money handlers amend his tax returns to reflect the proper gift tax payment that’s owed to Uncle Sam? The amount was well below the minimum tax exemption provision.

No matter the outcome, the stench of this scandal will follow Ohtani for the rest of his baseball career/life.

Until the investigations by both MLB and the IRS are completed and it’s determined that Otani is innocent of any improprieties, for the good of the sport he should be banned from entering any stadium the Dodgers play in.

Please note discharge status notwithstanding (I presume it was a general discharge), she’s a former member of the JGSDF. She’s now considered a veteran and is allowed to wear her dress uniform at ceremonial events (like the one held in the White House). Why she chose not to is anyone’s guess.

The guy blew his pitching arm out, no longer making him a “two-way” baseball player. He wasted his productive years on a team that had zero chance of making the playoffs let alone get a WS ring.

Some team will pick him up, but he is past his prime.
