The average salary is 4.57 million yen a year and I just googled that 65.7 percent of Japanese make 75 percent to 200 percent the median income. So lots of people really don't need the 100.000 yen. Why not give more than that to the single parents and one income families who make less then 5 million a year? Then you'll really help the ones in need

I see that my point has gotten Rare Reason wired up. Look i am at no means poor, wife and I both work and pay close to a million yen in taxes annually. What I was trying to say that domestic tourism is way overpriced here. For example, end of month we were thinking of a trip to Nasu. A run down hotel costs 40.000 for the 4 of us, 2 adults, 2 elementary age kids. Throw in the highway, gas, parking and food/ souvenirs it's too expensive. Why do the hotel's keep their prices so high and don't have their own promotions, vouchers etc. If they fail to lower their prices they don't deserve subsidies with tax money. Japanese hotels are overpriced on national holidays and autumn foliage season. Why do hotels like APA charge so much money while in Tokyo it's only 5000 for the same room? Just don't think a one day trip is worth so much not saying I don't have the money for it

You gott be quite rich in Japan to afford to travel when most people travel aka peak season as hotels charge by the person here and a family of 4 staying at an average 3 star hotel pay 30.000 yen easily. I guess you don't live here to know that. So a two day one night trip can set you back 100.000.

Guess you must be loaded not to think that's a lot of money

They can't let it go, can they? Use the money for better use instead of sponsoring the outings of privileged people who can afford to travel because they haven't been affected financially

What if you refuse to cooperate, can they refuse entry? As far as I know it's against the law to refuse entry without a legal reason

What a waste! Do people here need to be instructed about everything? Common sense to donate them to the necessary establishments when you have unused medical goods, this is worse than the discarded bento boxes

She can also donate money without her telling the world. Thought she didn't want to be in the limelight due to mental issues but I guess that's only when she needs to address the media, when it comes to her image it's a different story.

LTE is based on GSM network and WCDMA is based on CDMA, it's just an upgraded version. If you have a phone with only CDMA or WCDMA band but not GSM or LTE then you won't be able to switch between the two. Also in Japan most companies use LTE 1,2,3,6,7,8 bands so make sure your phone has these bands. In a year or so when most companies have enough 5g coverage and people switch to 5g phones there will be similar problems. Buy phones which support the most LTE and 5g bands otherwise you'll have the same problems

I see many people still don't know the full picture how phones work and what sort of locks they have. Japanese phone have both a phone lock and a SIM lock. AU use CDMA network which is not compatible with GSM. So if you buy a AU phone, unlock it you'll still not be able to use any carrier. You'll have to find a CDMA carrier in order to use the phone which means no SoftBank or Docomo as they are on GSM network.

That's why when you change to a MVNO plan they ask you if you want to use Docomo network or AU network.

The SIM cards are locked too, you can't just pop it in and use it within a minute after purchasing it. First you'll have to download the app of the SIM provider then get into the settings and kinda make the phone accept the card through changing some of the settings which can take like 15 minutes. This shows that the SIM card has a lock as well which can only be activated through a set of instructions.

If the writer is correct and this SIM lock disappears then you can truly buy/order a SIM card, pop it in, turn on your phone and use it like in most Western countries

If I had time I'd go there with some supplies for him and spend a night with him for moral support. I'm in a toxic marriage myself and scared of exactly this to divorce my spouse.
