Hate to pile in on this but it drives me nuts to see how the Japanese follow the rules with some things but with something as important as sestbelts for children, they don't. I I see the Japanese police obsessively pull bicycle over (to check for registration) but have never once seen them pull over a driver for endangering their child.

60 minites did a piece about the increase in immigrant crime a while back...The crew was actually physically attacked. I am not pro Trump by any means but to say that a problem does nor exist there is just counter productive.

If you don't read or watch news, you are uninformed. If you read or watch the news, you are misinformed. Biased news outlets are a huge threat to the democratic process

Posted in: How should the international community deal with North Korea? See in context

Nobody wants to deal with what will surely happen after the regime is toppled. Chaos, refugees, etc...It will eventually cost trillions of dollars to rebuild the country and destabilize the region. Shame on the world community for letting this disgusting group control the country for so long.

The truth of the matter is...And this is something people are not getting. Pence represents 50% of the American public, whose views are the same as his. I don't like the Trump machinery at all either, but to somehow portray Pence and Trump as the dangers to American values is ass backwards This dichotomy in American values is what needs to be addressed....

Well, I assuming that 99% of the North Korean population won't be partaking in this activity. Hope the elite families (wealthy enough to afford it) of Pyongyang enjoy it!

I just posted lyrics to a Dylan song that illustrates his poetic genius...but is ''twas taken down by the moderators. Could the moderators please explain why? Wouldn't it be petrtinent to the topic

Moderator: The purpose of the discussion board is to post your opinions on the story, not copy and paste the words to a song. Readers can look up the words to a song themselves if they wish.

The police do absolutely nothing about cars parked on the side of the road, children not wearing seatbelts, cars going through red lights, cars not stopping for crosswalks...But They seem them very busy asking cyclists for their licenses. Priorities.....

Silvafan So you went to the trouble of listening to all the albums and some of the TV performances of an "average" band that was in the "right place a the right time"? I don't think there is one professional musician in music today that doesn't regard them one of (if not the) greatest band of all time. What would you regard as a talented band?

Hollywood really should make an effort to put Asians in more visible roles in movies and TV. That being said, it's a business and I guess it comes down to the fact that audiences prefer seeing a white male in the lead roles..at least in Norh America. When it becomes more financially beneficial to have Asian actors in the lead roles, you will see it happening more and more.

Posted in: The key to loving Japanese TV if you're a foreigner See in context

I don't even think Japanese like Japanese TV. They realize how ridiculously puerile it is, but instead of demanding better quality, they have a "sho ga nai" attitude. I can't imagine anybody (Japanese included), looking through the TV guide and going, "Wow, there are two celebrities visiting a Raman restaurant in Ikebukuro...Let's watch it!" Or "Wow, two celebrities are visiting a hot spring in Hakone...Let's set our TiVo for that gem". At best, Japanese TV is just crap...At worst, Japanese TV is reflective of the maturity of its audience". Yikes.
