And, as usual, the United States is up to its fontanelle in hypocrisy when accusing China of ANYTHING because there is little the U.S. has NOT DONE to people somewhere on this planet and, most notably, amongst its own peoples.

Has done vs is doing

Which one can we stop now?

I've long been a supporter of holding the Games, but after reviewing the recent corona numbers... We're now at twice the numbers we had during the period the Games would have been held last year, and like SIX times the numbers of when the Games were officially postponed. How do they expect this to go off safely???

It's like the local bully screaming that everyone HAS to go to his party. (Except that this bully kills people because of their religion and tramples human rights.)

Companies like TBS are publicly traded corporations. I'm curious how they stop foreigners and foreign entities from buying stock and getting voting rights.

On the face of it, he sounds like an internet troll. What he said was unkind, but saying unkind things is protected by freedom of speech. He should not be held criminally accountable for her death. She chose to end her life.

A bit disappointed. Was hoping to see the North Korean athletes' eyes go wild when they saw how awesome Japan is and then defect.

Furthermore instead of focusing on kindergardens where at such young age many children fail to comprehend such topic how about start from Elementary Schools.

How about we focus on being nice to everyone, and leave all identity politics at the door. Preschool, elementary, junior high, high school, kids don't need identity politics.

Today, they are back to being a girl and talk about it as a phase of their life.

This.

Let the kind wear a dress. He gets bullied. Decides to stop wearing a dress. Check "wear girl's clothing phase" off his bucket list.

Posted in: Nurseries, kindergartens mull how to teach issues of gender identity See in context

The focus here is that the child is being bullied for his choice of clothing and that’s not OK.

If I saw a boy wearing a dress to preschool I'd probably call him out on it too. That's what bro's do - keep other bro's from having a harder time further down the road.

There is a lot of misinformation about this being spread, but one thing I cannot understand is why anyone would be in support of allowing someone to vote without proving they are who they say they are.

Can anyone explain?

Overrated.

She was mildly talented among a wave of talent-less "idols". She'd have a hard time competing in today's market, with today's artists, and even today's "idols". Not to mention trying to compete with foreign artists and idols. She was fortunate with the timing of her career. Nothing more.

Posted in: Japan ranks 120th in 2021 gender gap report; worst among G-7 See in context

You’re right,

Full stop.

because women are not allowed the same jobs. Period. And you can blather on about how that’s not true and women “choose” not to get the jobs men traditionally have held and still do here, but please wait to come back and tell us that nonsense until the government says there should be a female emperor if a female is next in line, but that female, say Aiko, declines.

Using the emperor as an example is terrible. It's a binary option. We either have a male emperor or a female empress. Saying there is sexism because one exists and not the other is ridiculous and does not help the common person.

That said, show me 100 people. Shoot - show me TEN men and women with the same background and I'll show you 20 people with very comparable salaries. The gap is nonsense numbers. Apples are not oranges, yet people want you to believe they are.
