And Preston Phro, you sound lazy and unqualiied to write the piece. It sounds like even after writing this piece you still know absolutely nothing about Canada. The capital city of Canada is Ottawa. Some famous Canadians among many include James Doohan (Star Trek Scotty), William Shatner (Captain Kirk), Keanu Reeves, and Shania Twain. The current far right national embarassment of Canada is far right anti-environment / anti-democracy Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

Not growing. It's just being enforced now more than in the past. People pay more attention to student complaints these days, and what would have been quietly shrugged off or swept quietly away under the rug and now topics for media headlines.

Why is he "celebrated" by even being mentioned or let alone interviewed this 100 Million Japanese series??!! This sick man has had far too much media attention, and each interview ends up glamorizing or drumming sympathy for the monster - with NO words from the victim. After, Renee cannot speak because she is no longer with us. Let us remember her and her suffering and not the words of a sick sick man.

It is one thing to apologize for a bad source, but when several eye-witnesses and historical documents indicate that there were enslaved sex-workers, why is the Asahi Shinbun suggesting in its apology complete support for the Abe government's historical revisionism?
Perhaps I should sue 7 or 8000 people should sue the Asahi Shinbun for printing outright denials of historical fact.

It's called fusian cuisine - a concept perhaps foreign to this writer who is evidently unfamiliar with Western multiculturalism and fusian cooking on the writer's own doorstep. Take the many bastardizations of pizza with octopus on it and mayonnaise, or German style bread sweetened with sweet beans. What about Japanese Curry Rice which tastes nothing like curry prepared in India? Most discerning tourists know these dishes are being played with and expect a good chef to do so.

There was no "error." And, I absolutely do not accept the Yomiuri's apology. The Yomiuri is apologizing to Abe who has trouble with the term "sex slaves" and would prefer his fantasy land hearkening back to his Norman Rockwell version of Japan. The term "sex slaves" is an accurate description of what really happened historically.

Kuribo1, it actually sounds like her life is controlled by a doting manager who constantly nags her about her next schedule, diet, and sleep. She probably has very little free time and few friends, and very much like a film actress she faces the daily pressure of she herself being the product. Not really an easy life and many points of it don't sound enviable or fun.

In the US or Canada, the family could involve the police working in conjunction with emergency health care professionals for forced removal of the family member suffering this condition. These individuals would be cuffed by police and sedated by a doctor, and taken to a mental health facility for 2-3 months for rehabilitation. While this may sound completely invasive and sounds like it goes against human rights, this process could greatly shorten the period of time individuals suffer this condition and the suffering for the whole family. Wouldn't this be better than 10 years of agony for the entire family?
