F1 is all show. The driving is just a part of the spectacle. Because it is Vegas the glitter is more obvious.

A rather condescending statement in "early success". He was on all but 2 studio albums, with the last one released 30 years after he quit the group.

"Perhaps the tour should have thought of this sooner."

Perhaps? Monahan has had his head in the sand for years. The Tour is going to lose the anti-trust case in court. At best, the PGA Tour should have welcomed LIV as an elite mini tour-within-a-tour and let someone else pay those bills. Now they are faced with losing their non-profit status, pay more money and still have to deal with an alternate tour that is far more lucrative than their own.

PGA had no problem taking Saudi money until Saudi's decided to compete with the PGA. Now their PR dept. is working overtime talking about Saudi "blood money".

Posted in: Scarlett Johansson sues Disney over ‘Black Widow’ release See in context

In my opinion, what we are seeing is an attempt to set legal precedent over what is regarded as revenue when participants are given points as compensation. The industry is in a period of transition regarding how films are distributed and there are many contracts that were signed that will be effected by this transition. It is not about greed as much as it is about a change in how contracts have been constructed in the past and how they will be constructed and interpreted in the future.

Posted in: Florida offers to host Olympics if Tokyo backs out: state official See in context

As a resident of Florida, let me clarify a few things.

There is little self-isolation. No mask enforcement.

Vaccination rollout has been and continues to be a catastrophe.

The state data has been manipulated from Day One to downplay the spread.

This guy, our "CFO" has been complicit in not only the Covid disinformation but has been supporting legislation that removes liability from restaurant owners should their employees contract Covid. That means they could allow more table density, no masks and not have a concern about the consequences.

Keep the Olympics out of Florida (not that there is a chance in heck they come here). If they can't be played in Tokyo then we should just wait until it is safe enough for them to be held.
