As a manc born and bred l am finding the start to the season very depressing . It appears that Mr Moyes has yet to adjust his thinking from Everton (11 points from 8 games thats nearly a third of the way to safety) to Uniteds we dont loose or dropping points against teams of that calibre . Still we have had a good run although he will have real problems if as seems unlikely we fail to qualify for Europe .Oh and Falseflagsteve l have no intention of abandoning my team we had bad times in the 70's and came through them and will do so again .

curious to know what it is we brits dont get about it.Is it the joy of having a potential enviramental disaster on our front door steps or is it the inner peace that comes from knowing that for the next 30/40 years we are paying twice the present market rate for the electricity it will be producing in subsudies to the company that is building it (plus they will also be charging the consumers as well) as a sweetner so they will shell out the initial costs. Costs which it claims are much to prohibitive for the government to build it self in the present ecconomic climate.

So presumably all those in favour of the death penalty would also support the execution of police ,jury and judiciary in those cases where the state kills some one who then later turns out to be innocent, as they them selves are now guilty of murder and should be subject to the same law .

Moyes is looking very unsure and out of his depth at the moment a bit like a rabbit caught in the head lights. I only hope he and the team improve before we play man city, to lose to them as well as to the scousers would be gutting.

Very interesting that Sepps lap dog Jim boyce has come out and said that common sense needs to come to the fore and in the interests of the game a sensible discision needs to be made ,criteria that perhaps should have been applied before giving Qatar the world cup which at the time was to be played in the summer as is traditional .

Posted in: Entertainment world leads outcry against Russia's anti-gay legislation See in context

Boycotting the games will achieve very little and is unfair to the athletes who have worked and trained hard to get there .However the international gay comunity boycotting russian goods and services may have much more impact and will directly effect the russian economy in a way that Putinmay find harder to ignore .

Its accademic any way blatter has implied that it will be moved to winter so it will be moved to winter .However there is the distinct possibility that European teams as is their right will not release players to play in it if it is moved to winter and threatens to disrupt their leagues .

l find it interesting that there has not been the usual knee jerk carpet biting vitriol about this barbaric and disgusting event just genuine shock and sadness and a slow understated anger starting to swell up . I would not be suprised if at last we decided to start taking a much more robust and hands on approach to fundamentalism .

Posted in: Psychiatric patient dies after being assaulted by male nurse See in context

As some one who has worked with elderly psychiatric patients for about 26 years there is no excuse for the nurses behaviour . When a patient becomes abusive or aggressive you turn round and walk away to allow you both to calm down you would also use the chance to ask collegues for help and assistance . Yes at times especially at the end of a very long shift they can become very frustrating and annoying but you have to remember it is not personal ,it is part of their medical condition and they are confused and frightened so you step back take a deep breath and try different approaches with them unlike with genral nursing the most important skill you will have on the psychiatric side is your ability to form theraputic relationships with your patient and while yes l can understand and appreciate how the nurse felt there is still no excuse for his actions .
