Pretty sure murder is considered unacceptable in the Philippines, or anywhere for that matter, Fighto.

Let's not get all This is why it's not a good idea to emphasise the ethnicity or nationality of a crime in the news JT - just stirs racism and xenophobia among those prone to it.

I agree with you, murder is a crime everywhere. Filipinos are not more murderous than anyone else.

All I am saying is perhaps The Philippines are not exactly sending their best.

Surely, you can not base the entire Filipino population in Japan on a single incident involving 2 people, just like you cannot judge the entire Japanese population in the Philippines on one murder by 2 Japanese people.

Oh, and none is 'sending' anyone. These are people who came to Japan out of their free will and inclination.

"Why would Korean doctors want to go to Japan?"

Possibly, to gain international work experience...?

When they can go to English-speaking countries instead? I gues it's close by at least.

It's a shame the US awarded her instead of Japan.

You know, if Japan was smart, they'd poach these doctors ( esp the trainees) to address the shortage in

Japan.

> @kwatt, I don't think so. Sometimes the Japanese you are referring to are actual foreigners with Japanese first and last names. Heard a compatriot married to a "Japanese" and got a surprise of her life when upon his death she learned that he was actually a Korean.

It's just a nationality why such a surprise? A lot of Koreans in Japan change their name to avoid the discrimination they would receive otherwise.

If found guilty, both Filipinos need to hang for this heinous double murder. Guest workers need to know - loud and clear - that murders will never be common or acceptable in Japan as they are in their homelands.

Rest in Peace to poor Norihiro and Kimie.
