Probably Japanese government is going to build high dike to protect them from another Tsunami so that people feel safe to live in those devastated cities again.

Posted in: Rally for Senkakus See in context

Since 1885, surveys of the Senkaku Islands had thoroughly been made by the Government of Japan through the agencies of Okinawa Prefecture and by way of other methods. Through these surveys, it was confirmed that the Senkaku Islands had been uninhabited and showed no trace of having been under the control of China. Based on this confirmation, the Government of Japan made a Cabinet Decision on 14 January 1895 to erect a marker on the Islands to formally incorporate the Senkaku Islands into the territory of Japan. It happened unfortunately in the same year when Japan won Sino Japan war and took over Taiwan, which stimulates Chinese nationalism.

Posted in: Kan has slight edge over Ozawa ahead of Tuesday's leadership vote See in context

Unlike the media, the most politic bloggers are supporting Mr.Ozawa and blaming Mr.Kan for being manipulated by the bureaucrats. At least Mr.Ozawa is aiming for bureaucracy reform, media reform and governmental financial reform.

I watched this match on WOWOW. When she took the second set the audience gave her a lot of applaud. In the third set Kuzy regained momentum again whereas Date kind of lost power.

Posted in: Hot run See in context

I know there is a public bath near Imperial Palace where joggers can store their clothing in the locker. After running, they take a bath, drink cold water, change cloths and go home by subway.

Posted in: Media has it all wrong on foot-and-mouth outbreak See in context

We see it as more human disaster. 1. Agura Bokujo intentionally neglected the outbreak. 2. Farm minister and administrative didn't take swift action against infection prevention.

Although, much bigger problem is that the media didn't cover the info about Agura's involvement because of its alleged political connections, possibly Souka Gakkai and Yakuza as well.

Posted in: Hatoyama says reviving economy top priority See in context

Hatoyama finally came to senses. His plan of 25% CO2 emission cut or East Asian Community was a kind of fantasy.

I'm afraid Namie Amuro Best Fiction Tour 2008-2009 has sold 155,000 copies (not 1.55 million copies) since the DVD went on sale Sept 9, according to several Japanese stats.

Posted in: What we can learn from Edo Period about recycling See in context

I don't know whether we can really learn something from Edo Period about recycling. Anyway, we have already solid recycling concepts like zero-emission or reduce, reuse and recycling of resources.

She was a legendary international star in Asia, someone like Marlene Dietrich. She played in Hollywood movie as well. Look at this Youtube video. She was 61 years old at that time and still beautiful.

Posted in: Federer beats Roddick in Wimbledon final for record 15th Grand Slam See in context

If Roddick hadn't missed 4 set points in second set tie break for taking 2 set to null lead to Federer, Roddick would have won the match. What a shame for Roddick !

Manami Konishi (30 yo) doesn't appear that pretty on the picture, but actually very attractive. Aya Sugimoto is already 41 yo, though the real woman. Other ones are just young and cute.

Posted in: Kim wins gold, Ando takes bronze, Asada 4th at world figure skating championships See in context

Congrats to three medallists, especially Yu-na Kim with the world record. This is the first worlds title ever for Korea.

Asada however had never missed the podium in the international competitions and it's the first time she didn't make to the podium. Apparently she wasn't fit for defending the title.

Posted in: Finance minister says Japan needs aggressive public spending See in context

I would rather believe that majority of Japanese can't spend a lot of money even they want to because they don't earn enough money for that. Many of them don't save any money for the future.
