I am sure you would feel very differently if you were a victim of hate-speech ms.tinawatanabe

so if you attended a state dinner for any dignitary anywhere in the world, you would scarf down your food any which way you like? Plus, it was just a demonstration, why get so worked up about it?

Strangerland: I am sure those private citizens that offered compensations would feel great knowing their contributions are nothing more than "hollow" and little more than "sound bites."

DDT is a terrible choice of pesticide that kills not only bugs, but damages the egg laying capacity of birds that consume them. No, no DDT please

Mocheake: High temps mean the water is less easily oxygenated. That means less oxygen present in the water - which equals suffocating fish.

Posted in: Arrest of Tokyo vagina artist sparks free expression protest See in context

Jack66, not to be a downer or anything, but I am pretty sure both your daughters have vaginas. What message are you sending them if you keep enforcing the notion that they are shameful? Its not like she made a 3D mold of her lady bits being assaulted by a giant phallus or anything... no need for the patronizing tone about having kids either.

Kids are going to see penis and vaginas - if you can see them in an onsen, what is the problem seeing them in art?

We all gotta physically grow up sometime, no?

tinawatanabe- again fingers in ears refusing to listen to anything else like bratty spoiled kindergarten children. That goes for Japan, Korea and China, mind you. Thank you for confirming my suspicions.

tinawatanabe- you realize by making that argument you are employing the exact same childish "he said she said" tactic right? What non point are you trying to make?

What on earth are you going on about FPSRussia. Would you want to grow up with the name "miscarried child?/Aborted fetus"? I know you take every opportunity to badmouth Japan, but at least try to make an intelligent argument sheesh.

Plus, quite a few European countries have naming laws which are sometimes more baffling than the Japanese ones.

Posted in: Court rules against man who sued NHK for using too many loan words See in context

@toshiko You should take a moment to read more carefully!

Don't pick and choose arbitrary parts to quote when the original intent was something different, its insulting.

National Broadcasters like the NHK in Japan, BBC in Britain and the like need to be a beacon of proper and pure Japanese (English), lead by example.

Read James comment again, he was agreeing with you! You should be more careful before saying such dismissive and frankly rather offensive things.
