Another child murdering Japanese woman, that's two stories from today. Getting out of control.

I hope the performers in BTS are also getting paid an equivalent share of the profits. Always seems shady these idol management groups especially in Japan.

Great news, have my second jab tonight and wife on Saturday. The end is in sight for these awful rolling attacks on social life and alcohol the Jgov continue uselessly to urge.

Being vaccinated does not mean you are protected. You ‘might’ be protected from the more serious symptoms, but you can still contract and spread the virus. The vaccine is not a silver bullet. Stay home!

So you want fully vaccinated people to continue staying home until when?. If half the population don't accept the vaccine chance they are given there's no reason to continue staying home if all the people who want to be vaccinated have been.

Getting my second jab tomorrow, wife's at the weekend. The end is in sight for us, hope everyone gets offered theirs soon so we can all get back to normal. For the people choosing not to get jabbed we won't wait for you, masks off and bars full as soon as everyone who wants one has been given the opportunity.

I am kind of envious you can do that much, our company has very strongly recommended we never go out unless it is coming in to the office, so that is literally the only time I have stepped foot outside.

I haven't been to a restaurant for close to 1.5 years now. Heck, we even order groceries online. Cooking has sure improved but I do miss not eating at home.

I am the opposite here, I have not taken a train or gone to the office since April 2020. Full remote work. However I occasionally go to half empty local restraunts at lunch time with my wife and outdoor spaces at weekends with my son. I love the irony of companies telling staff to stay home and don't go out on their private time but must continue cramming into the yamanote everyday at rush hour to get to the office.

Continuing with this attack on alcohol. I for one am getting damn tired of going for lunch with my wife knowing my drinking options are orange juice or ice coffee, how in the hell is me having a beer at lunchtime going to effect my chances of contracting or spreading covid.

Accusations should not be made public until they are investigated thoroughly by the police and at least reach a trial. This throwing around accusations based on hearsay and twitter is infantile. Let a court of law do its job before the amateur Twitter judges give their verdict.

I hope he sues for defamation.

I was going to say, if this was the US kids wouldn't be eating those. Adults would be cooking them up and inhaling them. Thankfully we live in a strict conservative country unlike those west coast liberal hell holes with drug fuelled zombies lying prostrate on street corners.

Had my first pfizer jab last month, zero side effects. Although I think Im sure I already had covid once in early 2020, very unusual sore throat high fever for three days and complete body aches, doctor tested me for influenza and came back negative. That was due to a job I was doing at the time involving lining up with hundreds of Chinese with very questionable hygiene standards.

I think Im going to be wary of taking the train from this point on.

I've not taken a train since April 2020 because my company isn't irresponsible and cares about company safety. With 5000 covid cases why were all these salarymen crammed into that train anyway.

Que black hobbits and badass females (you go girl) with no weakness. This is going to be a tick list of woke. The beauty of Tolkien is the stories are timeless, this will be firmly in the 21st century left wing political realm.

Whose betting some draconian measures will be urged just in time for Obon. The workers don't need holidays, just keep getting in those packed trains everyday though and be good and skutle off home to sleep once you've finished earning those tax yen, don't go for a drink to relax after.

Gotta take a look at 2 GOATs: Michael Phelps and Usain Bolt. Michael Phelps still went out and competed for a silver though he had slowed down a bit in 2016. Usain Bolt still ran in the 2017 World Championships though he got 2nd in the individual race. He still went out in the relay and tore his hamstring. MJ played with the flu and Kobe played several times with a broken finger, torn ligament, achilles and back spasms.

Different generation, worlds apart from the youngsters coming through now.

@TokyoJoe, I certainly don't see that with the Japanese female athletes. They look quite amazing under the stress, and still appear cheerful, respectful and a good role model. The male athletes as well.

Well is Osaka included within your 'japanese' athletes?. She admitted that pressure threw her game off. I agree the Japanese competitors do show a mental strength that seems to be lacking in some of the foreign athletes.

No Close fitting rule for the men and wow men can be only 10cm above the knee cap but women 26 cm.

Now again, logic for that difference?

Men tend to have something in the crotch region that can hang down the extra 10-16cm. Women don't have that unless they are representing New Zealand.

Don't want so revel in somebody's loss so will say well done Osaka, unfortunately not your year. I think perhaps time to step away from tennis and assess how all of the far left political stuff you got engaged in has damaged you on court and damaged your image.

Why not of male athletes as well?

They shout about gender equality but then create rules only applied to women. It's farcical to anyone with a shred of awareness.

Facebook is firmly in the far left mainstream sphere due to it's censorship of opposing opinions under the guise of 'hate speech'. There is absolutely nothing cool about that, it is the default view of mainstream media, big corporation et al. It can never be cool be censorship and infantilising it's users.

I wish the media would give racism a break for just a week or so. Just a little break without the innuendos and hints and suggestions and just bringing it up in general ad nauseam. We, the people, really could use a break.

Agreed however this is one chance when the world's media is looking at Japan to spotlight this issue. Finally something positive could come out of these awful games.

A good article however Katie Forester had to make it all about a subset of mixed heritage (Black) of course, further dividing people. All of our mixed race children will or do suffer this issue. Half Korean, Chinese or south Asian being groups that will see a fair amount of the 'ignorance' as the article puts it. All of us long time residents (tax payers) also suffer this regardless of color, so let's stop dividing us, at least this is something we all experience and can empathize with.

Things need to change, starting with the horrible word 'halfu'.
