Commodore Perry

In an interview Saturday, Wang accused the U.S. of adopting a superior attitude and using its strength to pressure other countries.

China, you are wrong. Shame on you!

The US does not have such bold leadership.

You are living in the past.

With a name like "Commodore Perry" and your comment, it shows how idiotic you are! You don't even know the history of the name you have chosen for yourself. Here's something to help you:

[quote] On July 8, 1853, Commodore Matthew Perry of the United States Navy, commanding a squadron of two steamers and two sailing vessels, sailed into Tôkyô harbor aboard the frigate Susquehanna. Perry, on behalf of the U.S. GOVERNMENT FORCED JAPAN to enter into trade with the United States and DEMANDED a treaty permitting trade and the opening of Japanese ports to U.S. merchant ships. [end quote]

And it's not just history. The US, under Biden, bombed Syria and Iraq just a month ago!

Unfortunately, Japan (the Government, not the people) prefers to be a wannabe-white nation; they prefer to be a 2nd-class American, sucking up to the white G6, rather than a 1st-class Asian nation which they can be and be treated as an equal. The reason is: they CANNOT ACCEPT OTHER ASIANS AS EQUALS, including Koreans and Chinese; they can only accept other Asians as colonized subjects, as inferiros, like Korea and Taiwan before WWII.

Trump is a great pal/buddy of Abe, or so Abe claims. So Abe is just following, like a faithful lapdog, Trump's playbook - impose sanctions, tariffs, etc like Trump is doing.

"Japanese officials say such materials can be exported only to trustworthy trading partners, hinting at security risks without citing specific cases." - Isn't that what Trump say of Huawei - National Security risk? But Trump is prepared to sacrifice 'national security risk' to get an agreement with China so he can get re-elected in 2020. It's all about Trump.

Japan's future lies in Asia. Mkae peace with the Koreans, Russians, and Chinese - this should be the STRATEGIC VISION. No matter what you do, you Japanese will always be seen as 'different' and even 'inferior' to the West. (I have personal experience as as Asian living in Western countries). Remember the Plaza Accords - you were on the rise as an economy. They screwed you!!!!

Honestly and realistically, only if Japan WANTS to return back to Northeast Asia in PEACE. It can happen - if Japan stops thinking of itself as a wannabe-white or superior-to-other-Asian nation; if Japan seriously thinks about its own national self-interests instead of being servile to another nation, the same nation that screwed Japan when she was on the rise as the second largest economy and caused Japan's decades of stagflation.

I understand there is a tussle between the DPJ and bureaucrats, the DPJ wishing that bureaucrats do the politicians' will.

Is this incident a result of that tussle?
