To operate a taxi company one should be compelled to offer a 24/7 service. What is this stopping services at 7pm business???

No problems with any flagship or even most mid range and even some entry level phones these days. Don't be fooled by this. The poster above is completely correct. Amazing how many people still think phones will die if immersed in water.

And in the very unlikely event you have an ancient phone that succumbs, bake it in an oven (or open function of ya microwave) for 4-5 hours at 40-40oC. And repeat again for another 2 hours just to be sure and you're all good to go. Back in the day this trick saved many a phone and even a laptop or two.

Ride-hailing services (a wolf) in a sheep's clothing. This is nothing more than continued protectionism and keeping the status quo.

Posted in: Japan's February household spending falls 0.5%, down for 12th month See in context

The article states spending is down for the 12th consecutive month and then attempts to spin the reason why. But we are not so easily duped now, are we, Kyodo?

Expect a similar article next month when it becomes 13 consecutive months.

Nonsense. Guns and safety never deterred them before. It's the astronomical costs these days. Japanese just don't have the money.

It isn't Bill Murray, but rather Japanese whisky that needs "more intensity." Drinkable but lacking in complexity.

And next on this bandwagon is gin.

Never understood the need to so much tissue paper in this country. Don't use it and never have. And got those washlet thingamajigs on the toilets so don't need so much toilet paper. And yeah, time to go local as much as possible for necessaries, or grow my own, especially the basics like fruit and vegetables. Supermarkets mostly seel junk these days anyway.

All of the women in the photo will be married and out of the workforce within five years or so.

No they won't. Marriage rates have plummeted and continue to fall. The average age of marriage if (and that's a big if) choosing to get married, is around 30 in Japan. Single is the new normal.

As I've said before, these are vehicles made with forced labor and zero regard for the environment, which send all your data back to the CCP. Anyone who buys one is directly contributing to these problems.

Yet you have no issues buying stuff made using slave conditions from all over the world. Most consumer goods probably have something in them that originates from somewhere that employs slave like conditions. You can ask Apple or Tesla or Nestle or any other US corporation about that. You'll get no comment, or course.
