Geez, was it one of those ashtray drinking games gone bad? I remember the bosozoku member doing a number on the kabuki actor many years back.

By one suspect, that should say.

Also troubling is that besides this kind of atypical food festival shootout, less reported domestic violence / family feud shootings are ongoing with high casualties. Five killed in Wisconsin within a day of the Garlic Fest carnage, for example.

So Perot lost his chance because his pool of ex-military pals was thin on the ground. Clinton and Gore, though flawed, had mass boomer relatability down pat compared to their wooden rivals--GHW Bush shopping for socks or whatever he was up to.

Admiral Stockdale was like the older brother of the elderly gent in the animated movie Up.

I guess Perot worked on recruiting military background candidates like Jesse Ventura who won the MN governorship for the Reform Party. But Jesse the Body later got in a fistfight at a vets reunion, moved to Mexico, and disappeared from public life just like the Reform Party.

Spies need life hacks too. See, the listening device goes into these limited edition Air Rodmans to be presented with the caviar and Cuban cigars. . .

Tried to out-personality staid fellow Navy man GHW Bush, who was an east coast elite transplant to Texas.

I recall SNL/ Dana Harvey laying it on thick with the southern accent, high-larious.

I was interested that Astrud made her recording debut on their most well known song, but her next period recordings covering funk rock e.g. early Chicago are more adventurous. And then their daughter Bebel is also a very good diva. Joao may be a a bit overshadowed by the Gilberto mujeres.

Oh geez, this makes me remember when Ichiro was on the Marlins and their young Cuban ace pitcher died in a midnight boat crash. Sad news.

One of the peripheral issues, more than being a red or blue state since LA is neither as the GOP elects immigrants like Piyush Bobby Jindal and the Dems prefer old guard political families like the Landrieus, is football-related brain trauma. Before you scoff at that, scan nola.com for the recent arrest of a college football player for a bunch of random killings. Another high profile shooting in NO was an ex NFL player after a bout of road rage.

Safe to say that for Ma-kun and all the other players, this kind of scenario--a blowout in London town--never crossed their mind as they plotted their careers in baseball.

@Ganba--hotels may be called five stars, but restaurants are assessed three stars max under the Michelin standard. Most of those are in Tokyo, while Osaka is much better known for b-kyu gurume that doesnt get Michelin stars.

Similar fashion to Pikotaro. I like the unselfconsciousness of sportswear suited, sports newspaper holding biddies that I have seen on Osaka subways--primo people watching public transport.

@nishikat--it is poor form to postulate about Reagans mental state because that cheapens other humanitarian gestures such as paying 1.6 billion to the Japanese American internment camp victims. Regan was a hardass as CA governor but became more congenial in his later years, maybe because of his near assassination.

Sports help surviving tough times. WW1 and the flu epidemic but people were also reading about the 1919 Black Sox ban. MLB and NPB barely missed one season in WW2.

Pro athletes are punished in house for fighting, not by the legal system--this naturally leads to pushing the boundaries/ rage worthy stuff.

Re age of outrage--but the co-owner sucker punching Lowry, the Raps fans vocalizing after Durant went down, Drake touching coach Nurse plus various players--those were legit outrageous happenings, at least for the sports realm.

"collusion with the West"

That is rich when you consider that Hong Kong's leader who is pushing the extradition agreement, Chief Executive Carrie Lam, is a graduate, along with her retired mathematics professor husband, of Cambridge. She reportedly lives alone at the Peak because her UK passport holding husband and sons don't live in HK anymore. Once she retires she will be moving to England too. And the protesters are the ones with the overseas connections?

Most interesting part is the bit about her brother in law. A bandmate of his was previously a Johnnys teen star. And when I first heard people going on about One OK Rock, I figured they had something planned at one o clock.

Sounds like Xanadu on Earth, but just see how long it takes train companies, restaurants, and hospitals to go out of business after they stop generating enough customer revenue.
