Posted in: Do you think suicide is an honorable way to atone for a crime or scandal? See in context
I can't assert if it's honorable or not, but I honestly think killing themselves could be a way of atonement for their wrongdoings. The act of suicide allows victims (or other members of the society) to see how much perpetrators feel contrite about their transgression. And I think that's the very reason why we have the death penalty here in Japan. We want to see them being agonized, physically or psychologically. Suicide shows it.
