Mukai san, you are a true black sheep. Don't change for anything, I love to see a Japanese man speaking so UNJAPANESE. Keep it up bro!

Congrats to China.
Now for the $64,000 question: Can they hold on to #2? Seems Robert Schiller, Samuel Huntington Jr, Fred Barnes, and Peter Schiff think not. China has many problems like ... oh say ... quality and safety concerns of their goods.
China could be #2 right now, but the important qualifier is holding on to it and many economic, political, and societal experts say, "No".

And after a hard day's work at the genetics lab, mine forgot to buy beer again. Had to walk out in the bleedin' Osaka rain to get it at the combini. So much for thanking the bread winner - eh?

You mean Obama can't walk on water or part seas. I thought he could wave his hands and make all things new.

None, I was reading Evelyn Waugh and George Orwell. No time for comics, I wanted to read real literature.

They didn't ask Erika to participate?
She wore a dress, showed off her rock, and had 12 wedding parties. You think they'd want experience.

I am sure it not so fun for the rice farmers who have lost their winter crops, volcan ash kills rice, or for the chicken farmers who have had to cull their chickens, nor is it fun fun for the residents of Kagoshima and Miyazaki to clean the volcanic ash off their residences, autos, and streets.
So when you are paying more prices this year for rice and chicken: Remember this picture was cool.

Patrick, put the breaks on mate. One post on a website shouldn't lead to divorce.
Go out, get a beer or three, and go back home.
Mate, if you do the big "D" in old Nippon, you stand the chance of never seeing your tykes again. Take a deep breath, get some beer, and get right mate. PLEASE, look at the future mate. Cheers.

Make this monkey a station master so this little town in Shizuoka can get some tourism.
Then plaster the "station master" all over NHK, TBS, Asahi TV, and CNN-J.
Make it pay back the quid paid out in taxes to catch it. This would the cute and easy way to do it.

@ Paeceful Man
Hey mate, ever notice this "Monde Selection" and medal are only in Japan? Hmmmmmmmm ... wonder why.
That is why canned coffee is selected and even 1000 yen per litre shochu is as well.
Oh well, if lemmings give faith in subjective ratings and medals, so be it.

Groupon needs to pull out of Japan now.
Why? Care to elaborate or just stick and move? Seems they did a very wise business move by their apology, and knowing nothing of business you just post a tag and go bye bye.

And what about the plant in Tennessee in the USA? Is that a "regional" plant or a national plant outside of Japan? Will Toyota kill Tenn. and Thailand as they said "to reinvest in Japanese capability." This was in June when the payoffs began on lawsuits.
Funny, Toyoda didn't mention if these plants are gone or kept.
And will the workers in Thailand and the other "regions" ... oopss ... nations be paid above the "region's" min. wage?
Those are the big questions facing Toyota. And their safety issues as well.
