The taxi drivers on Okinawa have to be the worst. Very disrespectful ex: cutting across lanes of traffic, weaving in and out just for a fare, stopping anywhere, parking at bus stops, etc. to many negative stories to write. Most of the drivers are well over 65 years old.....

How people that don't even live on Okinawa voice their opinions for and against military bases. They will be reduced the bases and the okinawan people and American community know it, but without the efforts of off islanders who don't even understand or live here. each demonstrator is paid a stipend from a private organization backed by OPG. It pays for air and ground transportation, food and room and a little spending money. So a majority of these people are there for the money not the sincerity and sacrifice of their cause.

Go for it. I respect peoples right to fair and unbiased protest against the base, but under representation by the other side supporting the base jobs and economic support it provides has been an unfair tactic of the OPG. This generation of US and Japanese government personnel understand the need to reduce through relocation of personnel and equipment and it starts with Henoko. Good luck in building a new Okinawa.

YuriOtani san, I'm very sorry abut the treatment you received years ago. But don't blame this group for their stupidity. They are trying to move. Okinawa receives a great deal of money to offset the cost of hosting the bases. Not everyone is getting this money, because it's being spent in Naha not North.
