This is so sick. What was wrong with her? Why would anyone do such a thing? She could have let someone look after her. What was she thinking? I am above repulsed and sad.

She should not have been driving after drinking heavily. Common sense goes out the window when a person is intoxicated. In her mind, she more than likely felt, that she was fine to drive.
It's best if people always had a plan on how they will get home if the "know" they will be drinking.
I do not drink because there is absolutely no benefit in it for me.

I am all for prison time (5 years) if you do not wear a mask, wash your hands, and social distance 6 feet. I am sick and tired of hearing about military personnel going out and partying when we have a serious threat on our hands.
Did I say prison time? Yes! That would do it.
I am seeing most of the Okinawa people treat this virus as a serious threat and are doing all that is possible to stay safe and not spread it.

Oldest trick in the book. The cashier knows the robber. They split the yen later. Should pay the cashiers a decent wage and decent hours. Lol just kidding folks, but I did see a movie on this exact same kind of robbery years ago.

Very sad and tragic. What could be so bad that it would cause you to take your own life. Everyone should understand that life is not easy. You must be strict with yourself and only then does life get easier.
Life is about struggles and overcoming them to be a stronger individual.

I feel that too many people make too big of a deal over nothing. It truly is nothing (in my eyes) if you have a clear and honest mindset. If a father or mother takes a bath with their child until he or she is in their early to late teens, what honestly is the big deal. Too much thinking about nothing. Love runs much deeper than being naked around each other. Now, if a child feels the need for privacy, then of course give it to them. There truly is nothing sexual about it.

Kind of funny. I wonder how she was asked to pay and if she was grabbed? Who wouldn't want to protect themselves. She sounds like a big baby though and should of at least told the 19 year old that her male friend owed the money not her.

"Prior to the incident, the gang rode their bikes into a nearby convenience store and harassed an employee."
How quaint! they are already termed a gang. Is that not what they wanted? These are (assumed) kids with nothing better to do with their free time away from school. They should invest more time with the elderly (assisting and helping out i.e. work).
I am seeing this (groups of students) acting out publicly more and more....The other day is was bottles being thrown and smashed on the main road, prior, shouting and screaming at 2:00 A.M. while smoking and drinking. Throwing trash around everywhere without a concern in the world.
So....what is in the water?

NO ONE can answer a simple question. I am a non SOFA (American) living in Japan (Okinawa). I retired after 26 years in the USAF and my wife sponsored me (she is Okinawan). My wife pays living taxes and every year I have to fight with City Hall. I have been retired since Nov 2009. I am not working and all that we have is my pension and savings (US Credit Union). All of my interest and pension comes from America and not Japan. I pay full taxes ( and taxes are taken out of my pension from the UNited States). Japan keeps telling me (through the city hall) that I must pay Japanese taxes on my US retirement pension and US savings interest. No one has been able to solve my issues and everyone seems confused. We is it so difficult, there are many retires living here and I seriously doubt that they are paying double taxes.

zichi, what firewall software do you use? AVAST is not free at all (they have the couple months free version) but then you have to pay. The VPN service is great for the IPAD (affordable at $24 a year) but the desktop version is over $100 for full VPN capabilities.
I never see any hackers trying to get into my system, thus am wondering what sofrtware are you using.

I am glad it wasn't an American GI that dd this. Could you imagine the outcome? The high school kids near our apartment that study at a small after school (school) are very loud and run all over the place. They run near our 2 parked cars in packs of 10-15 while running and screaming uncontrollably - one almost ran into me face to face and didn't say a word or even look surprised. When they are not doing that, they ride their bicycles all over the road bothering vehicles on the road with no helmets on. There is absolutely no control whatsoever with these high school kids. They also throw garbage all over the place and we got blamed for it once from our apartment owner. They deny any wrong doing when confronted. Who knows what they did to this man or what he went through (he sounds crazy to me) HOWEVER, I do not condone what he did. I just see things for what they are here. These kids get away from there parents and join together, they are wild and bothersome to everyone.

My older brother was bullied; quit badly at times. Then they all turned on me one day. They all took turns at trying to force me to be weak and run away. I (unlike my older brother) fought like crazy. I used whatever weapons I could get my hands on i.e. rocks, sticks, wood beams anything. I was suspended and 2 parents tried to sue our family since 3 boys ended up in the hospital. I was a lot smaller than all of them but would not give in to their tactics. I would rather die than be shamed and bullied. I was NEVER bullied again. I wish this boy could of stood up to at least one bully for his life would of changed (perhaps). I know it could get worse but it is the only way a bully will learn is to beat them so badly that they will never even want to walk on the same sidewalk as you. To some, this is terrible advice but then again, it worked for me and I would do it all over again if I had to. He took his own life and there is nothing sadder than that. Bullies have no place in society.

Like I said before, Hashimoto is NOT stupid. He is using his comments to highlight the sex crimes and abuse that took place by both the Japanese and Americans during the war and after. He is bringing it all out in the open and slowly, his agenda is building momentum. He is not for what he is saying -- quit the opposite. Shock the world as he did to bring out the true savage nature of man; especially Americans. Watch, it's already unfolding.

Posted in: Hashimoto says he lacked sensitivity to U.S. perception of prostitution See in context
I think Hashimoto Knew "EXACTLY" what he wanted to say and do. He used this opportunity to put a spotlight on Prostitution and the US Military. He knew it was wrong and insensitive yet also knew it was an attention getter. His true stand on prostitution is that he is 100% against it. He is also against the use of prostitution during the war. He spoke in such a fashion that he played everyone to get the true message out. I believe he is a lot smarter than people give him credit for. Stir the hornets nest and get everyone riled up to say "Hey! I'm sorry, I was wrong." No lets move on to talk about this sensitive subject in all sincerity. He knew that prostitution was also against the law. He planned on his visit with the general to use the propaganda as a spring board to his true attention.

Parade him around in shackles and let the Okinawan people spit on him and say "we hate you and go home" and give him the finger.
Oh! I forgot, that was done during the last protest.
Perhaps, it is time to scale back to just Foster and Kadena. It would save money and show good gesture. Not all Okinawans hate Americans...just saying.
