Many many commendable initiatives, as always. If only they were implemented. A law against discrimination would be good too but there must very good reasons for not enacting one.

I am a naturalised Japanese and lived most of my life in Japan. But the other day a bank employee asked me if I was Japanese despite telling her I am Japanese with a Japanese passport. So, yeah, there is a long way to go for this to sink in. Your contribution is welcome but you don't really belong.

I was almost run over by a car. I called police and they wanted to just turn a blind eye. When I went to the police station to complain about the driver and the whole ordeal, I was taken into an interrogation room. Oh, and you can’t record the conversation in a police station it seems. Very convenient, isn’t it ?
This does not surprise me at all. All things bad in Japan are because of foreigners but they love Gaishikei salaries :)

Very soon foreigners will figure it out and stop coming. There are far more fun destinations where one can understand the language, the food is better and the whole thing could be more affordable too. To the Japanese, Omotenashi comes on their own terms !

Well, he is not a foreigner and has been in the service of Japan Inc. for long. As a Japanese, he made good use of the foreigner till them point he was useful and then got rid of him. Just what a patriotic Japanese person should do. And to pull this off, he had to get his hands a bit dirty; surely he can't be punished for that, can he?

There is a lot of discrimination in Japan. Its an open secret and Japanese people think they are more superior. It is sad but true. Unless Japan's status as a developed country is reviewed, nothing will change. And I think that day is not far with the economy faltering.

What else can you expect. There is a mix of desperation and arrogance at the same time. Japanese are desperate to hear their own praise ! Sad and hilarious :)
