Posted in: Severe obesity on the rise in U.S. See in context
I think it's a bit odd to mention or rely on drugs to ease / solve obesity. Obesity is more the result of your life style and work put in over time, none of which should persistently be relied upon drug intake.

Posted in: The internet used to be less saturated with misinformation and ads, more user-friendly, and populated by real people. Social media was for connecting with friends and family, not for fueling outrage. What happened? See in context
Perhaps today's world has grown so complex that no one really perfectly can assess or articulate this reality at a point in time not to mention it's constantly changing to a point. This reality can't be describe by mere words and statistics. We are nothing more than a number and as such easily replaceable.
So of course people can't come to a common consensus among our fragmented world as the world to each of us is also a bit different.

While it's nice to think the car manufacturer / software company would be at risk, but I don't see them doing that. There is cost of insurance through monthly premiums and it would amount to them passing the cost back to the consumer in the end even if the risk is paid by them. They will hem and haw about it's the driver's responsibility and never remove the override is my prediction.

It's not a concern as It's not like I champion rallies / protests, leader in innovation, or trade penny stocks based on the news I read. I am not volunteering in any wars so what I think about the participants really doesn't matter.
At worst i am way misinformed on an chatting online forum between helpless individuals. I donate somewhat but it is what I can afford, and I guess I should be more worried about the effects of the pittance if Infact the charity isn't what it seems.

Unfortunately there's no perfect way to do it. I would imagine that there's less "glory" and marketing associated with winning a Paralympic medal than Olympic medal so perhaps it's more of a personal journey than the prize at the end of the tunnel. But it is probably presumption on my part.
None the less it's a competition and some may disagree with the limitation of certain injuries so they act upon their perception.

The issue is in the way it's done. It needs a government front and not just each business takes it upon themselves. That's what taxes are for, tax the tourist through some type of fee and redistribute it to the businesses.
