Posted in: Dealing with child abuse: What would you do if you regularly heard your neighbor's child screaming in distress or if you noticed a child with bruises on him/her? See in context
honestly speaking, i would hesitate to act. there's a fine line between discipline and abuse. it's already gotten to the point where you can't discipline your kids in north america and europe, and i'd hate to see it get to that point in japan as well.

i think it's great that this guy loves Jesus. i jumped on youtube and listened to some of his sermons. i think all the people that are judging him as a 'profiteer' of christianity would do well to observe that in japan, it doesn't work. about 1% or so are christian... you don't go into the church to make money in japan. you go into eikaiwa, the yakuza, banking, or some other crime...

although i disagree totally with this dude and with burning the quran, i think he hit one point on the head.
"Instead of possibly blaming us for what could happen, we put the blame where it belongs—on the people who would do it."
i do blame him, however, for failing to follow the bible that he claims to read. philippians 2:3-11 shows a much better example to follow. burning the quran won't accomplish much, except to make more people angry. but how muslims respond is also their responsibility.

i firmly believe it was al-qaida and that anyone who thinks otherwise is nuts. i mean, why would they not? and why would the us gov't orchestrate it? the most logical argument is usually the most plausible.

Moderator: It does not have to be relevant to Japan? Like all major news websites in the world, JT does not publish material only about its host country.
