So basically the crew on watch and their gazillion $ radar technology are all looking up...

How are they going to spot armada of tin boats full of pirates or suicides bombers ?

I feel sorry for the wives who lost their seaman.

The wages in my industry haven't changed in 20 years here. Other countries wages were elevated to match the cost of live so now anyone coming here get paid less than the would in their own country and the ones that were here have gone home because there is no incentive here anymore.

Posted in: Search widens for U.S. Marine Corps pilot missing after ejecting from jet See in context

How can they not find a pilot? The plane would've went down nearby with tracking beacons and fancy technology and the pilot would be floating with flashing lights on his jumpsuit like the normal life jackets in all passenger planes plus extra stuff to track..Even if he hit the canopy like goose and was knock out they would still have the technology to track them. How are they going to find pilots that get downed in enemy territory if they can't find this guy? I bet the Gov would be able to find me if I flash my 100yen LED light from DAISO at a few of their planes.

Mitsubishi can still bounce back without this guy. Even with Volkswagen's emissions scandal they still managed to knock the mighty Toyota of it's crown by selling more cars in the first half of 2016. How does that happen?

@sangetsu, exactly. There is a video on "full30" dot com that has a guy surrounded in a jungle by cops and he just movee fast and took 4 of the out before they could eventually hit him.

Posted in: Police shoot man after he attacks woman, 5-year-old son with knife See in context

hmm, another guy that was insecure let out into the public like the guy that killed all those people in the nursing home. Interesting that the police shot him in the leg though, all police and security guards are trained to go for the biggest body mass which is the chest and advised not to go for the trick shots. Maybe they were going for his chest and was a bad shot?

Posted in: 28-year-old man chokes to death after rice ball speed eating contest See in context

Sounds like the level of doctor in my town. All mothers jump into action when they see their kids chocking and there are numerous techniques to free food from the air ways, this doctor was obviously useless. Ambulances sticking to the speed limit wouldn't of helped either.

Posted in: 14-year-old boy killed by express train in apparent suicide See in context

Unfortunately this is the other side of the male psychological control issue here, some snap and resort to violence, other take themselves out of the equation like this. Either way it comes down to a lack of communication in the family, fathers doing the overtime thing and not coming, mothers telling themselves there's nothing wrong at home. The wife and husband sleeping in separate rooms. There is no family moral support, there's no talking in this type of dysfunctional home so if the kids is struggling with school or getting bullied the parents don't know and the kids have no where to turn to. Very common here. Ask all you male friends and co-workers if they ring/talk to their sons regularly. Even if the parents are married the wife is basically a single mother to the kids. To many Japanese rushed to get married before turning 30yrs (because that what you have to do in Japan) and have a family because everyone else does not thinking about what it takes to raise a loving caring family, they got married and had kids because everyone else does.

Posted in: University student arrested for pushing his girlfriend off train platform See in context

He won't go to prison because he's already denying it and the police need a confession. If he goes to Keio his father probably went there too and has a respectful job and knows people. Japanese males have control issues, hence so many stabbings, they just snap. How is it a waste of life for a student of such an elite university to spend the rest of his life in a cell when he can't think right after a few drink and could've killed the girl if the train was closer? This guy will never be anything anyway.

yawn, his parents will just pay the University more money to sweep it under the rug as they did to get him accepted. Just another baka-musuko getting a free ride thru life.

Posted in: 89 psychiatrists have licenses revoked for fraudulently obtaining credentials See in context

They can start with the psychiatrist that okayed the release of the guys who killed 19 in the nursing home recently. Because the university's here accept donations/presents from families that want their children to attend a good uni, there are ten's of thousands of unqualified doctors here in Japan. They all pass the exams here because the fees were paid, not because the student achieved the marks. I've never heard of anyone failing a college or uni degree here. Malpractice and misdiagnosis is rife here and swept under the table.

There are actually big corps and companies that force their workers to take the mandatory days off and go home on time so this problem never bites them in the butt. The company name is more important to the share holders so they don't need bad press of overtime abuse. Chanto yatteru kaisha ga imasu yo..

Japanese Police are famous for running around cars and stuff trying to get away from wannabe tough guys, check youtube. There was a clip they other day with a guy threatening a police officer with a broken bottle and slapping him but nope...they just put up with it.

Posted in: Tricked into porn: Japanese actresses step out of the shadows See in context

There were about 20 people around me, waiting. No woman could say no when theyre surrounded like that, she said.....

Why not? I hardly think normal women would give in so easily regardless of how many people there are.

And again we see how naive/nibui Japanese women get themselves into situations normal common sense should prevent.
