I wish the Japanese government would just shut up when it comes to North Korea.

Young, beautiful, talented, a champion, you'd think people would be pleased, instead there's a lot of miserable, green-eyed monsters on here wanting to rain on everyone's parade. Sad.

Yes, way too many losers in this world!

It doesn't matter whether it's a man or a woman. What's more important is that the new PM is competent.

The people in the west don’t need to be reminded about it-they know or can easily find out unlike the billion Chinese that haVe no idea that the CCP murdered 45,000,000 million people in the ‘Great Leap Backward’ !

45,000,000 million people? That's a lot of people when the total population of the world is 7,800 million today.

All jokes aside, you have made what seems like a fair point. I've also thought about that in the past. However, please consider the following.

Do you believe that Western countries care more about the Chinese people than the Chinese government? Tens of millions of Chinese people are traveling in an out of China every year. Huge number of foreigners live and work in China. How stupid and or ignorant do you think Chinese would have to be to not know what happened. How can we verify that 45 million number?

The CCP hates it when the west reminds the world how the CCP massacred hundreds or maybe even thousands of peaceful student protestors at Tienanmen square in 1989.

Ever wondered why the West doesn't remind itself of countless victims of illegal Iraq war or countless other wars?

We cannot yet say, if we ever can, why this unfortunate woman killed herself. Meanwhile, we mustt marvel at the overflowing expressions of Japanese compassion emanating from this thread.

I doubt there are very many Japanese people on this site. Based on the slant of opinions on this site, I would speculate that it's mostly foreigners living in Japan.

Posted in: America's rivals return fire on human rights after U.S. protests See in context

so do you feel this article is true? Iran and China have grounds to criticize the human rights record of the USA?

Yes. According to the World Bank, more than 850 million Chinese people have been lifted out of extreme poverty; China's poverty rate fell from 88 percent in 1981 to 0.7 percent in 2015, as measured by the percentage of people living on the equivalent of US$1.90 or less per day in 2011 purchasing price parity terms.

In the meantime bottom 50% have gotten poorer in the US.
