If the treated water is not harmful, then release it into the ground or surrounding environment and not into international oceans. In other words, keep it inside Japan. Then other countries will not complain or protest regarding contaminating the oceans.

Posted in: Kishida pins hopes on wage hikes to accelerate wealth redistribution See in context
The government is full of hollow words. Large corporations will never increase wages merely by the government asking them to. Corporations and the super wealthy, will never donate or increase their cost unless it is advantageous for them to do so.
Wealth distribution should always start from the bottom and not just the top. Minimum wages increases should be made so that those barely surviving can attain more stable lifestyles and cope with inflation. Also corporate tax rates should be increased. Tax rates on the wealthy should be increased, along with getting rid of tax loop holes, which the wealthy always take advantage of.
The pandemic has forced many business and corporation to streamline their operations. Yet the government, both national and prefectural lags far behind. They need to streamline their out-dated formalities, aim for maximum digital operations (for example look to Estonia), regulate inappropriate and foolish projects such as Abe-mask (a useless size mask that delivered late and basically embarrassing to wear). the government needs to streamline and make better use of the tax money.

of course the virus would sooner or later arrive to Japan. What I question, is what about the other passengers that arrived on the same plane? Are they being isolated, and tested after a 3- day period?
He tested positive on arrival, which without much doubt means that other passengers were at risk throughout the flight.

just hold on - airlines are one of the most devastated industries during the pandemic, and now the Suga government is asking them to not accept new reservations as the testing facilities at airports may not be able to handle the influx of passengers arriving. Is it not the responsibility of the government to have safety precautions in place during the olympics? this would mean ramping up testing facilities and staff at airports to handle increased numbers of incoming passengers. The government needs to take more realistic responsibility for testing facilities. get with - get real.
