Posted in: 2 Tokyo university officials suspected of bribing bureaucrat resign See in context

Good to read this. The investigators should extend their investigations in all J- universities. There was a scandal in my former J- uni which I accidentally uncovered but got no support because the uni was in a very rural area and I wasn't fluent in Japanese. But still I managed to force the uni admin return that money to the beneficiaries. A lot of scholarships money is abused.

This is heartbreaking!

Poor widow. At 79 still working ! Too bad that your life was ended in such a cruel manner. May your soul rest in peace. I can really visualize such old hardworking kind and polite Japanese women living in the country side.

TigersTokyoDome, in any case she would use emergency contraceptive pills to avoid the unwanted pregnancy. She is just heartless and must be punished. Even if the judicial system pardons her, nature will punish her.

Thank God the little Angel is in good condition. I wonder why would one even have sex if they are not ready for the consequences! In any case, why not take an emergency contraceptive pill? It's very gross to abandon a baby and the parents will live with that guilt forever which might cause committing other worse problems such as killing babies because they won't stop crying, stabbing neighbors with daggers because they can't stand the resentment, etc.

Good to know. I just don't think robots will be a solution to the aging population and dwindling work force. The country will still need human beings to consume products and support the domestic markets. Robots don't do shopping.

Life is hard. I really feel compassion for this man. I'm sure if he got some mental and financial support, he can be a better person.

This is another MacDonald's vs Mo's Burger experience; trying something from the west in a Japanese style, always an oxymoron. Examples, teaching English in Japanese ( Public Schools), the American Restaurant at Minato Mirai in Yokohama ( very expensive yet the worst American food you can ever get), etc.

Posted in: 8 things you should never say to a Japanese person See in context

Ramwag at Dec. 13, 2015 - 09:50AM JST I always ask and will go on asking all those questions and even more. Because I have to live with my conscience. I value my conscience and the truth higher than life. Also, these people are not happy, and if you prefer? Do you really think these people are happy, when they are not allowed to think? They are tolled that they are happy and peaceful. But deep down as they all know that they are not happy people. At the same time, as a lawyer's (I.H.R.L.) point of view they are the most nastily unhappy people...

Same here!
