Posted in: Man arrested over unpaid taxi fare for 850-km trip See in context

Damn, in London you'll struggle to find a black cab driver who'll go south of the river. This driver went 850km. For that distance you'll expect some kind of down payment or insurance.

Next time drop him off at the nearest airport.

The servers were taking a hammering earlier on. It is fun to see some suits walking down the street in Tokyo trying to catch some Pokemon. Those bemoaning it's for kids, shut up and stay away from the game and don't click on any Pokemon Go related news.

However, the police told him they were busy with “more urgent cases” and asked him to come back the following week. Twelve officers then went on a three-day trip to Hokkaido.

So much for protecting the public. Can't go interrupting their jolly little trips now can we!

Doesn't help when I see people going for their jog around mid day when it's the hottest. It's that time of the year where common sense escapes the minds during summer.

Posted in: Sequels, once a sure thing, are slumping at the box office See in context

Whatever makes a quick buck. There seems to be a big push on TV shows now with higher budgets and scale and lots of streaming platform exclusive originals being made. I think people are seeing better quality from Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc shows than many cinema titles. Shows like The Flash, Jessica Jones, House of Cards, Community, Orange is the New Black, and many more offer more and keeps the audience coming back.

Unless it is Star Wars or some Marvel movies, it probably won't make as much.

Delay is for as long as it takes. Convicted and guilty of killing innocents. He should not be released at all seeing has he has done it on multiple occasions. Funny how his lawyers cry out and demand his deportation, but no compassion for what he has done and lives he has ruined. Throw away the key.

So does that make it illegal if he doesn't accept it? It must be nice to hide behind that law. It is clear to see who these regulations benefit, having no right to refuse bonuses regardless of circumstances. They never serve the people, never have and never will with zero care for accountability. All that talk about honor, it doesn't exist in modern Japan. Go on T.V and say sumimasen with a heart felt deep apology.

Posted in: Man arrested for forcibly kissing, groping woman See in context

As soon as I read that the incident happened around 1am, I automatically knew the excuse would be "I was drunk, I don't remember anything".

Oh, he remembers. The only time you don't remember much is when you are drunk and you pass out. Every time this excuse is heard, they should just double the punishment.

Yoshida was quoted by police as saying he remembers hitting something but did not think it was a person.

Just because he didn't think it was a person! Regardless of what or who, just think. I bet he knew he hit someone, tried to make off but luckily someone caught his number plate before he could get away. Another diamond of an excuse.

Posted in: Student shuts down 444 school websites to 'remind teachers they are incompetent' See in context

Any kid with a pentium 3 could run a DDoS these days. And it isn't hacking the name says it all, a denial of service, flooding the site with multiple requests so that it becomes overburdened and crashes. Hacking means gaining access to a PC or server illegally. He accessed no data.

His excuse is petty, and there are some here applauding it. If this kid had the brains he would apply his technical knowledge to something useful, how about making your own apps and sell them, show those who talked down to you or say you can't do it that you can do something. But instead he followed a manual on how to DDoS and got caught. Yes, incompetent little punk.

Posted in: H.I.S. cancels travel with 'beautiful girls' campaign after complaints See in context

Isn't this typical modern/old(it has never changed) Japan where they sell everything on basis of being cute or attractive. Regardless of the girls being from Todai, I would of thought those with the smarts to have much more sense.

A lottery to sit to an attractive girl, what's next, putting a special handshake ticket into CDs to have a chance of meeting your idol and drive up sales.

That meeting to approve this campaign must of been something special.

I can no longer tell which is more tragic: that a 57 year-old reads comics or that he doesn't understand that he has a job to do.

Why would you berate someone what choice of media they enjoy? Yes, reading comics whilst on the job and operating something that directly impacts passengers is a massive no, but don't be dickish about adults enjoying comics. That's tragic

I wonder want pathetic sentence he will get for this.

I stopped having any sympathy or tried to come to any understanding regarding this young woman's state of mind when she said she would not have minded if her daughter died. Also the fact that she tried to lie about trying to kill her own child. She knew exactly what she was doing and quite devious. When she caught out she used the same line as always you hear when this kind of news breaks.

Just build them I say. What's wrong with people? Japan has a serious aging population. The government wants to boost the child birth rates, yet news like this probably puts off parents wanting to have kids or more than one. Some women I guess don't want to be full time housewives and give up on a job they studied hard for at Uni at a great cost.

Posted in: Woman arrested for strangling 11-year-old son to death See in context

@Danny Bloom,

No, it. absolutely doesn't make perfect sense.

Murder is murder regardless of the circumstances. In that mother's eyes it might seem ok to do what she did on her end, but doesn't excuse the fact she killed her own child and trying to wrap it up with as much fluff to soften up the action is inexcusable. You know what a loving mother is.... Someone who doesn't kill off their own kids and loves their children unconditionally. It has nothing to do with western standards.

Are you going to make excuses and defend all the previous mothers killing their kids because of reason x and y as well?

Rest in peace in little fella.

Mr Hyperinflation Mugabe of all people. Is Abe and his cronies devoid of any intellectual sense? Mugabe who singled handed destroyed the country's built up infrastructure and economy, illegally and forcibly seized and redistributed commercial farms among his cronies who didn't know anything and disinterested about farming killing the industry and its main source of export revenue and what made it's bulk GDP.

Well done Abe, who's next?
