Nothing of the sort. Try too little and too late.

@bobbafett

Of course TEPCO is best equipped. The French, US, and rest cannot even the instruction manual!

20 years of no growth, now this... I just hope that the side effect of the reactor and quake will force the old guard to let go and be a call to motivate the young.

Looks to me like Amazon are competing with there Cloud Service users. They better choose to be one or the other. IBM tried once a long time ago to get into the OS game, now they don't even make laptops.

@Yumimoto

Or just wait the 8 days for the half live to reduce the radiation; excuse the pun. Completely different type of radiation in this case. plus there is DNA available to record.

Morning Watch: A few buds along Megurogawa and in Yasukuni. My officially opinion is not Sakura!

Posted in: Tokyo's cherry blossoms officially in bloom See in context

Well "Officially" not sure who or whom to believe; UNLESS we can get shacho to confirm what taj is saying OR I see some Sakura in 80% bloom.

Personally I expect that I may see 80% before the 8 or 9 days thrown down. I can walk past Yasukuni in the mornings so I will keep you all well informed. Also may place some odds on Betfair.

Posted in: Kan says Japan will remain on 'maximum alert' to deal with crisis See in context

Japan has finally asked for French help after rejecting it over a week ago. Not sure what they will bring to the table, but so much for the "Team Japan" and SHAME they did not take it when offer the first time. But, I guess maximum alert includes accepting help from overseas.

However this plays out, Japan have the cash to rewrite any history they wish. So, this is a done deal -> business as usual.

@taj

In case you missed it...

When 80% of the trees’ flowers have opened, an area is officially designated as in “full bloom.”

@EbiChiri

Ueno is not in the "officially designated" area. You like me was fooled by the article. But, no doubt we common folk will get to see the Sakura, just later on! For now, 5 out of 6 blooms on two trees at Yasukuni are in partial bloom. So, just forget about the reactor and get inline near the big gate!

@tokyovistor

Don't get me wrong, Hanami is one of the really highlights in Japan. When I first got here didn't get it. But, now just can't get enough. The change in the weather, the renewal, the beauty.. absolutely the best. Hate it when I am on a trip somewhere and miss the best days.

Only problem is that it ain't out yet! May be by the weekend! Combine that with some real progress on the reactor and I am a very happy camper!

Anyway, for now I guess off to Yasukuni to take in the two trees that were sampled!

@taj

Oh... Yasukinijinja NICE... That explains it. I just read the text. What I should have noted was the implied meaning...

When 80% of the trees’ flowers have opened, an area is officially designated (Yasukinijinja) as in “full bloom.”

My bad! I will look for the hidden truth from now on! Gamabarimasu!

Should I also read that the reactor is safe and Tepco is doing a great job.

Like the Radiation statements. Not correct! Just go look! I guess Megurogawa and Hibiya park are not in the 80%. Oh well Shoganai!

Posted in: TEPCO apologizes again and again See in context

TEPCO is one of Japan's top companies. Like other recent disclosures at other Japanese Blue Chips the Emperor's Clothes are no longer new.

I expect even this disaster, and I don't mean the earthquake but TEPCOs response, will go largely un-addressed. The problem for this Galapagos is the world will/has move on.

Sayonara Nippon! OR Change! Clean you house and be great again... later OK!

I am sure the fix will be beautiful! With all the required documentation. No such thing as a patch job, even if the solution is a patch job in the end. There is a process and everyone needs to agree first!
