Posted in: 'Pokemon with Guns' proves a blast See in context
there may be some troubles ahead if Nintendo or Game Freak decide the similarities are too many.
Trailers for the game have already been out for a couple of years. If Nintendo were to act it would have done so then. PocketPair are pretty confident they have that side covered.
And since there are already mods for the game that replace the pals with pokemon the situation may get a little more complicated yet.
And Nintendo were very quick to shut those down, which adds credence to the idea that the legal position for PocketPair is strong.
You can't sell entertainment in the US without a gunfight, car chase and explosions.
I seem to remember that Animal Crossing was very popular for the Switch.
why do guns and blasting have to be drawn into the comings & goings of cutie-pie characters?
This is nothing new- Fortnite and Roblox is hugely popular with children.

One thing that is not mentioned in the article is that when evacuating, no passengers brought off any hand or cabin luggage. This would have assisted in the rapid deplaning of the passengers and crew.

Not really; the author is submitting that the movie might have been better if it included the efforts by Napoleon to reintroduce black slavery to French West Indies. And the author doesn't disguise it.

Why do you keep posting "Japan does celebrate Christmas" when clearly it does not?
But it does, and as Elvis is here has said, in a decidedly different way. All the illuminations that you find all over the cities are to take advantage of the Christmas consumer-based season. They attract visitors, which brings business to the location presenting the displays. It's not religious, but Christmas went that route a long time ago.
Hallowe'en is celebrated in Japan, but the tradition of trick or treating is not embraced. It's just more an excuse for people to dress in costumes and party.

Posted in: Studio Ghibli’s 'The Boy and the Heron' now has English dub trailer from its Hollywood-star cast See in context
Pretty much disagree with most of the commenters here. The English dubs for Ghibli films since the days that Studio Ghibli films were released by Disney in English speaking territories have been the best in the business. The casting and performances have been very appropriate For example, Michael Keaton's performance in Porco Rosso has been compared very favourable to Jean Reno's performance in the French dub. I myself love the Kiki's Delivery Service English dub, featuring Kirsten Dunst, Phil Hartmann and Janeane Garofalo.
I watched Kimitachi wa dô ikiru ka in Nagoya in August, so I am pretty enthusiastic to see it in English in December.

Posted in: Brown, red, black, riceberry: What are these white rice alternatives, and are they actually healthier? See in context
I try not to eat white rice, brown or black rice is better for my gut, and certainly not good for diabetic or pre-diabetic diets. It seems to me though that Japanese people eat pretty much only white rice as their staple, and I've not heard of diabetics being a serious issue in Japan? What else is in their diet to stave off diabetics?
Having said that I wish that Japanese restaurants would offer brown or black rice as an option, but I get that it's cheaper to just have white rice in their meals.

Disappointed that people aren't claiming that chicken soup doesn't alter DNA or cause cancer, or that the flu doesn't come from a lab in China. Disappointed that people aren't pushing narratives that have no references, but instead based on the person's own biases. Disappointed people aren't quoting identity-less screen names of experiences that can't be proven, and not from doctors, scientists and technicians whose credentials can be looked up and verified, and have written peer reviewed articles. Finally, disappointed that Big Farma isn't paying off the author of this article.

The Yokohama War Cemetery is a solemn and serene location; I have visited there several times. Open to the public, when you come in from the busy and packed streets of Hodogaya, you are witness to a wide, expansive green oval. On the edges of the oval are the various memorials and graves of Commonwealth and other nations' soldiers, who died on the Home Islands. Ceremonies to commemorate the war dead take place on days when Commonwealth nations commemorate their own World War One momorial days. For Australians and New Zealanders it's ANZAC Day (when I visited); for Canadians it's Vimy Day (I believe?); and of course there is Armistice Day on 11 November.
It's worth visiting if you have time in Yokohama.
