As usual, people on this comm can't believe that the criminal could possibly be a foreigner

I guess it's because posters are so used to foreigners being blamed for all ills in japan that when a foreigner really does do a crime (maybe) they just don't believe it. But times are hard, jobs are hard to find, english schools are collapsing, who knows??

Cool Biz What rubbish! So you can take your stupid tie off, big deal! Who invented the tie anyway, stupid piece of cloth just dangling there?!! Now if you could work naked that would be really Cool Biz and increse productivity in the workplace. But on second thoughts, the sight of some of the battleaxes unclothed would probably make me feel ill and lower productivity!

Posted in: Rush hour See in context

Japanese just love to be together in their groups don't they! Who would do this everyday?? The same weak pathetic workers who work 12 hours day, unpaid overtime and have no holidays. In London last year when I visited England on business, I suppose you could say at least they were at least a bit more spirited. On the underground in rush hour I witnessed 2 full blown fist fights. Entertaining at least! Do the japanese go in for fisticuffs too on the Tokyo subway??

Don't get involved in a "situation". As a foreigner, you will be the one arrested regardless. Happened to my mate just recently. Keep clear. Let one of the natives do it.

Posted in: Johnny Depp to spend 15 hours in Japan for 'Alice in Wonderland' premiere See in context

15 hours huh? Just time enough to write his name in kanji and learn about the 4 seasons. Bet he doesn't have to be criminally fingerprinted at immigration. These film stars are way too big to force them in to those indignities that we ordinary criminals er I mean foreigners have to do.

Very true comments by everybody here. Next we will all have to have our anuses inspected before we go to travel naked on the aircraft. And our sheep will still be saying it's a price worth paying for security! Really some people are very well trained like pet dogs!

Anybody that does even 1 minute of overtime unpaid is an absolute moron. We only go to work to get cash, so make sure you damn well receive it! Japanese workers who work for nothing are beyond belief. Stand up for yourself.

What morons the japanese workers are that they put up with not taking their holidays and doing unpaid overtime etc. This is supposed to be a group society, well get into your little groups, resist, fight back, demand your rights. Who can have any respect for the japanese worker?? Pathetic, just pathetic.

Posted in: Magazine airs anxieties over China's burgeoning economic clout See in context

Reading this article, 2 points come to mind. Firstly, if Chinese men want japanese wives then they obviously don't like sex. And it's high time to scrap all this totally useless unproductive "learning" of English in the nation's schools. Learn Chinese young man and of course, young woman.

Posted in: Some fans object to Asashoryu's retirement pay See in context

sumo is just so boring these days. Was much more interesting in the Akebono/konishki/ Taka-Waka days. Asa had a personality and tried to liven things up. His retirement pay is fully deserved. Hope to see him in K1 soon.

Posted in: Foreign-born politicians put new face on Japanese officialdom See in context

No idea why anyone would want to invest this much of their life in this place. There are so many other places in the world that these efforts would be appreciated more.

Yes, there it is in a nutshell, couldn't agree more. Why the hell bother with japan?? This little insular country is just going down fast.

Posted in: How much more can airlines do to improve security measures against terrorist plots? See in context

It won't be long before all passengers have to fly naked, modesty disregarded. And to stop explosives being secreted internally, every passenger will have to consent to having their a$$ probed. No hand luggage whatsoever permitted and all other luggage to be submitted the day before travel to enable a full examination. Take the train or stay at home folks!

Posted in: Susan Boyle arrives in Japan See in context

I heard from my brother in law who is a mid-level immigration official at Narita that she was most surprised and upset to be fingerprinted on arrival. All arriving foreigners are suspected criminals even if they are going to appear on the red and white snooze fest.

How many people watch this snooze fest these days I wonder? I think I'll just watch the fighters battering each other!
