Mickelicious

Yeah, gobble up that chicken raised as quickly as possible, as cheaply as possible as far away as possible, served as fast as possible by people paid as little as possible.

Oh no, it's the side effect of innovation: productivity.

Posted in: Begin your day with these 5 simple and delicious Japanese breakfasts See in context

BackpackingNepal

Are those really healthy early morning on empty stomach? Rice (carbohydrates), Raw Egg (salmonella)?

Yes, rice should keep you energized throughout the morning. I get that some people refuse to eat raw egg - it's a matter of preference. It doesn't hurt to cook it but in Japanese breakfast the heat from the white rice slowly cooks the egg anyway. There's a reason the TKG is a staple in breakfast for centuries now.

Conversely, I want to try your breakfast style as it is fairly low GI. I'd add an espresso or doppio though.

If Uber Eats is already expensive enough for me, how would this fair?

Okay, I checked the site and they sell mashed potatoes for 1.4k yen. This app is for the giri-giri rich who don't have chefs on the ready.

My theory is that they're keeping their randomizers higher than the usual since there's no long weekend yet.

Let's see on the end of the month if it falls to the potential 4-day weekend.

They need to hire more women for these positions.

Easier said than done. Go for performance, not just for diversity. If you can find one who can fill both quotas, then it's a win-win situation.

Posted in: Do you think remote working, where possible, improves productivity, creativity and staff retention for a company? See in context

I get why majority of the people voted Yes - having the option to have freedom on where to work is almost always a good sign. But when it comes to productivity, creativity and staff retention in which the question targets to, I'd say it's on a situational basis:

Productivity: Sure you don't have to commute or wear your pants, but in my case, there's just too many distractions inside the house. I'm just an arms length away from opening my game console.

Also, if you're working with a team, there are some time- and security-related concerns that could just be avoided by going to the office.

Creativity: This depends if your remote place or your office has more resources to exploit from. For example, if your research is mostly on the web then WFH is better, but if you need something to experiment onsite, then obviously going there is better.

Staff retention: This one I don't know. Maybe it's a motivational pressure battle from burnout? Fear of employers getting you canned or having stale salaries? I would like to know other peoples' opinion on this since my mindset is not managerial.

China is around for at lease 10,000 years. Any neighbors isn't benefitted ?

It didn't matter how many zeros China had in its history, if they are bullying now, they should be addressed now. About the neighbors having benefits, I think they caused more harm than good, but I would like you to give me examples.

The four should start by helping Hongkong and Taiwan's sovereignty over China.

Posted in: Coronavirus vaccination to be made free in Japan See in context

I have questions;

does the vaccine vary from vendor to vendor,

and if it doesn't, can the receiver choose which one to get?

Overall, this is a direct application on where the taxes go, but as for all new things such as buying new gadgets, it is best to not jump ahead in decisions without doing the research yourself.

Posted in: How does Japan feel about a Hollywood adaptation of the 'Yakuza' video game series? See in context

The Dragon Ball Hollywood adaptation was so bad the author decided to revamp the story with Dragon Ball Super which led to a second boom in popularity and now with the highest grossing mobile game franchise.

The Yakuza franchise would not be affected either way since it already has a following in both the Japanese and the Western audience. But with a sloppy track record with Japanese adaptations I'm not expecting anything noteworthy on Hollywood this time.

Yes that is true! I am wondering why?

Hakushu and Yamazaki are both too popular for the supply to meet with the demand. The resell prices for the whiskeys are going up too. To make up for the demand, they made Suntory Ao which is a blended whiskey.

I'd recommend checking other Japanese distilleries. My personal favorite is the Nikka Miyagikyou.

Suntory Old you can find it everywhere no problem.
