Based on many experts the yen will be at around 230 by the end of the century , Good for Japan any way you look at it.
Why would it be good for Japan when foreigners can come in to buy up all assets (such as properties) cheaply, and it's more expansive to import foreign goods and material?

Apple car didn't happen. But many of the technology that was developed will certainly be carried into future products in various forms. The fault was not in cancelling the project. It was in starting it when such was not deeply connected to the other strengths nor the ecosystem of Apple.
People don't get Vision Pro yet. The price point may be "high" for many people. It is a first gen product not meant for the masses at this moment. It is cheap for the technology involved to make it happen. No one else can put such marvel together except for Apple, let alone at that price point. It'll certainly open up interesting opportunities for Apple in the future.
The on-device AI approach and partnership with OpenAI is genius. Why put up resources and take the risk to reinvent the wheel with uncertain outcome, when there is another ready low risk and sensible approach? It allows Apple to maintain flexibility as the AI story unfold. And the privacy focus further distinguishes Apple from other phone makers.
I expect the upcoming AI iPhone cycle will be huge as it is a bargain given the productivity boosts it can provide. I also can't wait for the foldable iPhone and iPad. Apple is expansive when looking in the rear mirror but not so when looking into the future. The next 3 to 5 years will be golden for Apple.

Posted in: Naomi Osaka pulls out of French Open, citing mental health issues See in context
It disgusts me to see all these heartless comments. Noami enjoyed playing tennis and discovered/developed her talent. She has social anxiety and got really anxious at press conferences. She probably tried her best to manage along the way but at times it still got over her head. Do you know what it is like for someone who suffers social anxiety? Can we be decent human beings and be empathetic with her instead of stoning her? What's the BS about she signed up to do press conferences as part of her job? Did she have a choice? She loves playing tennis, so should her try to overcome her social anxiety or give up her dream of becoming a top tennis player? What kind of morons would not try to support her? Simply imagine your daughter in her shoes. Would you still make the same criticisms?
I apologize if i had gone overboard. I almost feel her pain since my daughter has similar mental issue. It's hard to imagine the hell they had to go through trying to put up a brave facade every day. The least we can do is to be empathetic and supportive.

@donkusaiJ Rep John Lewis should keep quiet and not share his view while Mr. Trump #notmypresident can spread fake news and information? The system does not break down precisely because of the check-and-balance and people's right NOT to be silenced. People can judged for themselves who to believe. If the presidency is so insecure and venerable (cannot withstand any criticism) then something is terribly wrong. President Obama, and all presidents before him, are subject to the same scrutiny and attacks from opposing views. What kind of democracy is it to ask people to shut up and rally behind the government regardless of its legitimacy or behavior?

@M3M3M3 @Moonraker The motive could be greed (and the kick on being able to get away from being caught?). A wealthy celebrity shoplift not because he/she can't afford the item. He/she wants it but doesn't want to pay for it? The excitement of living on the edge? Who knows. But the premise that if someone can afford the item they won't steal it is just not true. Maybe they won't if they think and weight carefully. In that split moment, greed, foolishness, and lack of a sense of decency took over.

Yes, they can. And it would be dealt with according to their respective court systems - in China, in Japan, and in any country. That is the pretense, of course. But who says it is not ugly?

bfg4987 A company is perpetual. So - yes you can, when it is a company. The verdict and seizure can happen under a western court, unless the case passes the statue of limitations. Of course we are not naive enough to believe the Chinese and Japanese courts (and enforcements) are not biased and not being instruments of the respective governments.
It was a civil suit, therefore China claimed the 1972 joint communique does not matter.

"You want to give these emotionally charged soldiers a rest somewhere, it’s clear that you need a comfort women system" - well said, Hashimoto-kun.

As long as the food is properly labelled, what's wrong with that? Should Japan block all imports in order to protect jobs? Let the consumer choose. If someone else can provide a quality product at a low price, isn't that wonderful? Why harm the majority for the few? The consumers are robbed of their choices to subsidize for the farmers. Is that the right way?
