How about Ueda from the BOJ acknowledging that he might have to raise interest rates to shore up the yen?

Posted in: Japan's inflation slows to 2.6% in March but rate hike still likely See in context

The government is fooling no one. Hesitance to raise interest rates is the acknowledgment of an asset bubble resembling the earlier 1990's. Inflation has outstripped any wage hikes over the past three years, hence the terrible stagflation. CPI excludes food and energy so the pain is real.

Stock market /price has never been a clear indicator of the fundamentals of the economy or business. Take a good look at the Nikkei225. Tesla is a revolutionary company, transforming the automotive industry with it's tech and manufacturing prowess. At these levels, its a buying opportunity

China is Japan's biggest trade partner while America is Japan's security partner. Facing two ways so it's not too far off

It's a national security issue. It would raise eyebrows in any country if the largest steel producer was to be acquired by a foreign entity.

Keep on vowing while printing 60 billion USD worth of yen a month to artificially keep your interest rates near zero. Hope it's not anything like 1992

Otani has a team of people working for him. This most of course includes his finances. Multiple wire transfers equating to 4.5 million would most definitely raise red flags. Excuses like him not understand the US banking system and blah blah is comical. I sincerely hope the evidence clears his name but I know exactly 700 million reasons as to why he might lie.

Japan being so uptight, would benefit from a bit of the green. The trend will only grow as more countries reassesses their stances on alcohol which is far more damaging on every level. Huge percentage of crimes worldwide including Japan, involve alcohol.

I would assume it's because China and Korea were the main victims of the atrocities committed by the Japanese during WW2. Comment of the day comes from someone who clearly has never read up on WW2 history.
