I respect everyone's opinions, however only Taiwanese most understand various Taiwan issues, inside and outside ones which are too complicated to explain here, so through democratic election, millions of Taiwanese made the decision as this news mentioned. By the way it's actually a happy day for most of Taiwanese.

To Venze: Tsai offered to step down as party chief. Of course Taiwanese want peace!

Is Abe so naive to think a war in Taiwan is good for Japan? So he eagerly want to involve for Japan with some possible military role ? No! War is terrible, everything you desire would be gone if it does happen.

US military experts say a war over Taiwan is desirable, because Asia’s growth to become world’s economic heartland has become unstoppable.

Abe san, don't play that kind of game with western rightwing extremists to ruin your loved Japan!

Taiwan in August announced the easing of restrictions on imports of American beef and pork...

Taiwan does import American beef and pork except "pork containing Ractopamine", which is forbidden by 160+ countries including Euro, China, Japan... etc. and Taiwan was requested to open market for those poisonous pork this time, more than 75% Taiwanese object the policy and protesting is going on for the time being! Do you guys know what we get? yes, this empty dialogue! I won't be so mad if we can sign a solid FTA with the US, everybody knows trading is not a joke, who care about any bla bla bla dialogue especially with those who will step down 2 months later.

Stilwell said Washington would continue to advance engagement with Taiwan, which China views as a lawless province, and provide it with arms to ensure it could defend itself...

Are you serious? this "provide "means sell, do you think Taiwan can protect itself by purchasing some 80 f16 fighters and 120 missles? If the US is really nice to Taiwan, it should sign a "mutual defense treaty "with Taiwan instead of all the useless words!

Instead of shifting production line to southeast Asia, why don't they directly shift to the US? That's what Trump really hope, and the answers are probably what the US really need to sort out. As of those southeastern countries, most of them might be fine, but forget about Vietnam and Indonesia who are not quite safe for investors!

Posted in: Why is anti-Japanese sentiment remaining from the World War II era almost non-existent in countries like Taiwan, the Philippines and Indonesia, unlike in China and South Korea? See in context

Japan is a special place where Chinese culture and western culture very well blended, you could find some very pure Chinese culture factors which even China already lost today, in this aspect, Taiwan is so similar to Japan, that's why people feel Taiwan is close to Japan culturally, so Taiwanese could understand Japanese better than others and therefore easier to forgive their mistakes which were anyway not made by Japanese of current generation.

As to those any politicians' view over any specific country, in my opinion, are all of waste time things, just throw it to garbage can where just fit them well!

Azar is the most senior cabinet member to visit Taiwan in decades and it comes as relations between the world's two biggest economic powers plunge to historic lows.

OK, it's fine and we appreciate, however Mr President Trump, pls don't take use of us as your chess to play provoking game with China, I think it's south China sea instead of Taiwan strait a better place as you guys play ground ~

Posted in: Nagasaki urges nuclear weapons ban on 75th anniversary of atomic bombing See in context

Abe has repeatedly refused to sign the treaty. He reiterated that Japan's approach is not to take sides but to serve as a bridge between nuclear and non-nuclear states to encourage dialogue to achieve a total nuclear ban. Survivors and pacifist groups say Japan is virtually siding with the U.S. and other nuclear states.

Well, actually only 4 countries, US Russia China and NK, possibly use A bomb around JP, so Abe could at least request a treaty to be signed amoung these 4 parties as well as JP to set JP an A bomb free zone, it's not easy, but it is definitely step 1, and after that, hopefully we can see better development going on, however if we just do nothing, ok just forget it...

those countries were using online disinformation and other means to try to influence voters, stir up disorder and undermine American voters' confidence in the democratic process.

So troublesome? The simplest way for China to get rid of Trump is to buy advertisement in US media like "we sincerely support our best friend for 2nd term... _ China CCP "
