Was just about to order then I saw the price tag oO

~6500Y for this is absolutely overpriced no matter if it is ghibli or not especially as it doesn't look very big.

There is some "famous?" chain (only know them from Kyoto and Okinawa though) doing custom made music boxes (some with ghbili music but as far as I know not with changing soundtracks) for MUCH less.

@dbsaiya

thanks for the info, but there would still be the question for people like me who don't know it if even if he really "only" wanted to get the crows ... is it allowed in Japan to kill crows just like that ?

I guess withouth a proper licence in europe it would not be allowed.

Ex_ResToday 02:55 pm JST

Countermeasures huh?

In this case, meaning the South Korean government escalate anti-Japanese sentiment and furor throughout Seoul and the rest of South Korea,

It seems to me that if anybody disagrees with Japan, or does not give Japan it's own way, then they are accused of being anti-Japanese.

Perhaps it is Japan that has become the bully.

Japan must realise that the era of playing sweet little victim is coming to an end.

wtf ? when did Japan play victim ?

And there is a Contract and Money was paid as they accepted that they did something wrong even though I guess they might never have said that they are sorry? (dunno)

It is like some guy stays in front of your house with fire and a fork in his hands and demands you pay him x ammount of money because your gandpa hit his grandpa in his face before you were born -.-V

Of course he doesn't want the Relocation as it is planned yet ...

They are about too chop of lots of the Northern Forest on Okinawa Honto with all the old Trees and many animals and stuff ... they are destroying the whole nature there while the soil on the Bases is already drained in oil and whatever the military left in there.

If they would only close Futenma withouth destroying the whole northern part of the Island he probably would be happy.

Lately Okinawa get a high ammount of Tourists from China and Korea (it is increasing a lot from what I have seen the last few years) so they don't need the bases anymore to survive (still would hurt some shops and such sadly)

Posted in: Japan to decide on Aug 2 to remove S Korea from preferential treatment list See in context

Japan is doing the right thing ... I wouldn't give someone prefferential treatment after he hit me in the face either.

In normal friendships this also happens, I get into a fight with my friend and whoever starts it says sorry and maybe offers an icecream or whatever as a sorry. If he would come back to me years later and tell me that even though I gave him the ice and everything was fine for a while he can't stand me anymore again and I need to give him much more stuff he shouldn't wonder if I would be pissed.

@Eleonora

Well in Japan the greater good goes above one person so it makes sense.

If one Person causes many many people to get into trouble then this one is a bad person and needs to be removed from the society ...

You know, now that the guy killed himself his familiy needs to pay lots of money because of what he did even though the Family would probably have enough trouble already.

Posted in: Japan rejects S Korean calls for scrapping of tech export curbs See in context

This sounds like Moon is actually threatening Japan ...

Japan is doing the right thing and I doubt that the WTO will actually have a problem with what Japan is doing as they are now just treating S-Korea the same as everyone else instead of giving them special rights so no problem at all.

If S-Korea think they need to start another "war" because they want to get some more money again then bring it on, doubt it would help them in the slightest.

Sadly it is the same as the Nazis did, just shouting bad stuff about others and you get lots of people behind you. Talking it out in a proper manner doesn't get you any attention at all.

If they stay home and won't travel to Japan anymore it wouldn't be a bad thing as the Koreans aren't much better then the Chinese when it is about manners ...

Those people are so stupid, if you look at the picture they all look like they haven't even been born when this was settled more then 60 years ago ! now they come up and protest, that's so stupid. I don't get what they gain from this -.-V

Japan should stop selling stuff there and just use the new JEFTA tready and ship all their stuff to Europ ... probably a much bigger Market then South Korea

Posted in: Abe says no need to raise sales tax beyond 10% for decade See in context

Sorry but really ?

I know that for Japanese it sucks (for me it was paradise when I worked in Japan and only paid 20% income tax plus 8% sales tax)

Japan has the highest debt per Capita ....

Here in Germany income tax is at a maximum of 47% if I am not mistaken plus 19% sales tax ... that's a whooping 66% tax while Japanese have a maximum of 28? oder 30? all together so less then halv.

Of course the Companies would need to pay more if taxes get highered to much but it is not the Worlds end to pay a little bit more taxes to help your Country stay strong.

so many pedos XD

Uh well yeah I doubt that tracking your steps helps at all, it is just that people who do that out of their own will probably "try harder" to walk more and get more steps while others who don't care about this wouldn't buy this stuff.

It is like saying that people who do sports at least once a week are better in sports that people who don't / people who do sports move more then people who tend to sit on the sofa and watch tv ...

Of course it would suck for those 5 people with wheelchairs that visit every year but actually he is not wrong ... if you want an elevator build something new but don't put it into an "old" Castle where it doesn't belong.

People want to see the Old building and not some hightech building with every possible extra you could think of :/

Posted in: How much do you need to earn every month for a 'normal' life in Kyoto? Here’s a sample budget See in context

Everyone saying it is not high enough ... not sure if there is such a big difference in Kyoto compared to Tokyo but I payed MUCH less in Tokyo even though I did travel around alot every day XD

As I mostly ate Shio Musubi and Edamame my expenses for food were very small, my ~25m² flat was only about 20.000 a month including everything ( I have to admit, that's because I knew the owner and got a special Discount usually they take 50.000 including everything there is)

Going to Movie Theaters and such is luxury which is not necessary and not everyone does this.

Even if I would stay at some other place my hotels hardly ever were more then 3.000 so no idea why they calculate 8000 plus I doubt you'd do this often when you have your flat ..

Clothing and Shoes ... hmm dunno I only bought 2 new Jeans for 3000 each and got a pair of Shoes from a friend within 6 Month, don't think it is necessary to buy new stuff for 5k every month oO

And you can not really add "savings" when you want to know what you need as this would just be a nice extra and is not mandatory.

All together I could easy survive with 50-80k less a month

(except for times I traveled a lot I hardly ever spent more then 150.000 a month)

Why not just make normal "Falafel" instead of this ...

I do this for years ...

Chickpeas (can't use the one out of a tin can as they won't hold together)

add some panko or whatever

Add Mustard (is actually often use german Curry Ketchup (Hella Curry Gewürzketchup) but it is expensive in Japan) and add spices

some cumin, some coriander, salt and pepper

and thats pretty much it ...

I add parsley and chili as well but thats not usual as far as I know

Posted in: OECD says Japan's consumption tax rate should be more than doubled See in context

Very stupid Idea, everyone would be enraged if taxes would be more then doubled just like that oO

Then again I can understand that it might be necessary as Taxes in Japan are a Joke ...

When I worked in Japan I earned less then half of what I get in Germany but after Tax I still had more then I have here as we pax ~47% income taxes compared to Japan with a maximum of 21% plus 19% salestax while Japan has 9% as far as I know ... that would be ~66% compared to 30% in Japan XD

The Government needs money but increasing salestax drastically like that would be stupid and Abe would never do it ... they need to slowly raise income taxes
