well done Japan, but Jordan were poor in possession. Every EPL team would have beaten them last night, even Wolves.

Posted in: 30,651 committed suicide in 2011, NPA reports See in context

the tsunami didn't help the suicide rate, but I suspect the number would have been 30000-plus regardless. imho. sad to read that so many students are turning to suicide.

Posted in: Japanese beer heads cause Westerners to froth at the mouth See in context

I've got used to beer with too much head, and when I'm back in the UK it takes a while to appreciate the British pour. My spin on this: you are being ripped off with too much head (instead of beer, which you want) and everyone knows this but heaven forbid anyone actually mentioning this to Taro-kun, or his boss.

I think the real purpose of this is to make Japanese wake up and do something, for the national.

do readers understand the exact meaning of post natal depression? Her youngest was 4. I hope she gets help, as a nervous breakdown has obviously occurred. I'm against the death penalty, full stop. Killing her won't help.

Posted in: Japanese passenger arrested in Hawaii for punching Delta flight attendant See in context

I've seen a small fight break out on a flight to Australia, two guys, one very drunk. It was a bit scary. I wonder if the old boy is a nervous flyer? Also, I was cut off the alcohol once on a flight to London with BA. I had 5 beers, and they said 'We think you've had enough'. I was a little drunk, but felt confused at their attitude. I just put it down to BA being tight.

it's also claimed that Churchill knew about the attack and didn't tell the U.S. as he wanted the U.S. to join the war against Nazi Germany. just another theory.

Posted in: Passenger arrested for riding in car with drunk driver in hit-and-run case See in context

I at times, used to drink and ride (a motorbike), but after the seriousness of the Fukuoka incident and the apparent change in people's attitudes, I haven't since. I have too much to lose, and taking a taxi or making other arrangements isn't such a hassle if it becomes the norm. BTW, I've never been stopped and given a breath test. Speeding on the other hand is different...

My wife takes my kids to the clinic for medicine when they get a cold, without fail. Then overdoses them til they get better. Seems to be the standard way of dealing with a simple cold. As for being admitted to hospital, shouldn't the cold be considered more serious, like a potential case of pneumonia?

I saw the cops going into 'izakaya's yesterday handing out flyers and giving gentle reminders about drink-driving in Kitakyushu (Fukuoka ken). They didn't think it was worth giving one to me however, but I support kind actions.
